IDENTIFY THE IDIOT © John Brownlie

We identified a few eejits last week. There was Braden Davy, who thought that the UK would be able to identify and target military personnel only with a nuclear bomb.

Then there was the Tory party who announced that they would give you a MUG if you gave them £25, becasue people in kitchens and living rooms all over the country wanted the Tories. (People anywhere else don't!) Or something!

Before that there was the Labour party, who have been promising more autonomy to SLAB for as long as there have been ravens in the Tower of London, telling us that Scottish Labour was to get more autonomy. Yawn! Who knows, one day Kez might get to choose whether she wants tea or coffee with her rich Tunnocks tea cake, but don't hold your breath Kez!

At that point John suggested the posts might be named "Identify the Idiot". Munguin liked the idea and approved it at the weekly board meeting (more work for Tris providing the board with champagne, oysters  and petits fours).

Without further ado then, I present to you today's example in what will probably be a long series of such articles under John's heading. It still qualifies although it was clearly sent some weeks ago.

Rather obviously removing one of the superfluous sources of the world's nuclear weaponry is unlikely to make the bombing and destruction of another city more likely. Au contraire, I would have thought.

But surely Kezia remembers that  her own party members wanted to get rid of Trident and voted for that to be Scottish Labour policy at their conference. Therefore, whether she likes it or not, it is Scottish Labour Party policy (if there is such a thing). Bit silly, but almost believable that she thinks that it's bad that the SNP has that policy, but good that Labour has it.

Possibly of course, she's just grateful that English Labour voted to retain the nukes, and she's just grateful that idiot Scots don't get to call the shots.

Additionally, it might have occurred to her that her boss is also in favour of ditching the beast.

So, you really have to wonder at the stupidity of this tweet:
Please note, John, that the board recommended that there be a small remuneration for this and I'm happy to inform you that the Czech is in the post, or rather on his bike, and on his way to you. Not sure how he'll get across the water as Munguin provided no travel expenses.

I've never seen that tweet by oor Kezia fae Harris Academy in our very own Yes City of Dundee before, what a plank. I had to look at it a few times trying to see that it was a parody account. Oh my, she really has to think before she writes, that kind of slip up is usually left to myself, maybe she has read grumpy lol. I don't get the nuclear weapons thing at all, I never have, I just can't understand them from cost to the stupid justification that they make us safer. Even silly Baillie around jobs is a joke, I would rather give the employees a few million each to retire and we would still save hundreds of millions but Kezia, lol she knows how to cheer a yesser up no end.

    1. It seems to me to be genuine, Bruce. But you can never tell with Twitter. There are so many parody accounts.

If it IS a parody, then it is significant that no one is surprised by the buffoonery!

    2. Maybe she is remembering that there is a place called Hiroshima in a country far away. She is certainly not remembering that the children and grandchildren of some of the survivors are still suffering and dying because of genetic damage done by the radiation.

    3. Aye it's far from amusing. I read that the bombs we had are 1000x more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb.

How could we even contemplate it?

    4. The largest tested was 2000 times more powerful. During the cold war the Soviets dedicated one single missile for the destruction of Scotland (from looted KGB files). The missile was aimed at the Wallace Monument in Stirling and was guaranteed to devastate everything in a fifty mile radius to a depth of 500 metres. The North Sea and the Atlantic filling the hole would have put paid to any survivors. The Soviets were sold nuclear technologies in 1954 to guarantee the arms race and because it wisnae fair that only wan side had all the weapons of mass destruction (US/GB).

  4. Many people on the street were killed almost instantly. The fingertips of those dead bodies caught fire and the fire gradually spread over their entire bodies from their fingers. A light gray liquid dripped down their hands, scorching their fingers. I, I was so shocked to know that fingers and bodies could be burned and deformed like that. I just couldn't believe it. It was horrible. And looking at it, it was more than painful for me to think how the fingers were burned, hands and fingers that would hold babies or turn pages, they just, they just burned away. For a few years after the A-bomb was dropped, I was terribly afraid of fire. I wasn't even able to get close to fire because all my senses remembered how fearful and horrible the fire was, how hot the blaze was, and how hard it was to breathe the hot air. It was really hard to breathe. Maybe because the fire burned all the oxygen, I don't know. I could not open my eyes enough because of the smoke, which was everywhere. Not only me but everyone felt the same. And my parts were covered with holes.

    2. Hiroshima was a ground burst bomb the other bomb at Nagasaki was an air burst causing in an instant the same effect it took 1000 bombers to achieve in Dresden and other German cities. Search Dresden survivor on Morning TV for an eye=witness account of what happened to people in the firestorm.

  7. I am growing sympathetic to Wee Kez. She really is so far out of her depth that its painful to watch. The merciful thing to do would be to replace her with someone who at least has half a clue.

  8. It seems to me that stepping down from mutually assured destruction is perhaps the hardest thing for any government to achieve.

It also seems to me that governments lurve their nuclear weapon systems. Look at the new boys on the block.

For a pathetic little nation like the UK to drop it's pretensions might be a useful step in the right direction, but the macho men in the Ministry of Defence are scaredy-cats when it comes to surrendering an iota of their killing power. Moscow would be wiped out in early exchanges. Am I supposed to hate Muscovites? Am I supposed to think that they are somewhat willing to give up their lives just because? Why are their lives at risk for global power any more than mine is?

Just because the lunatics inhabit the true power politics of this planet and until we remove them, we are all at risk of their insanity.

    Just saying.

    1. Actually. I agree with everything there.

We need to go back to the head of government/state leading armies into war.

In the meantime we do all this and our military lose their lives so that the elite can stay elite.

There is an interesting snippet in Private Eye this issue about who profits from Trident renewal; who is on the board of what, and advises government, and what the whole thing costs, compared with the FAR cheaper American option.

I'll try to get a hold of it again and type it out so that I get all the facts right.

But once read you start to understand why we have trident.

  11. It would be a tad pointless for oor Kezia to have a position on anything. As night follows day, it will change. Except her denial of socialism, that it built into her brain.

    A Vicar of Bray, perhaps?
