CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE FOR ONE SECOND WHAT THIS IS LIKE?
TRY TO IMAGINE IT, AND IF YOU STILL WANT TO CRITICISE FRAU MERKEL FOR WHAT SHE DID WITH REFUGEES, WITH ALL ITS ATTENDANT PROBLEMS, ASK YOURSELF "WHAT WOULD I HAVE DONE?"
The irony is that it is widely believed that none of this would have happened had not Iraq become the basket case with absolutely no security and little rule of law. ISIS only managed to get a hold there becasue USA, UK, Italy and Spain thought they knew best.
Germany wasn't involved in that catastrophe.
Still, Tony Blair and his fellow criminals have made a LOT of money out of it, so it's not bad for everyone.
I agree that she showed compassion in this matter, which is more than she showed towards Greece!!
The wee soul, unfortunately a child of the voiceless just who are just like us.I agree with you Tris on all that you said, trouble with politics is on the whole they stink and always have. Presently we have a Government who care here in Scotland, next time we might not be so lucky and who knows which way the German People will go. I really fear for the World when I look around, so many people have been thrown to the wolves and those who did it are now multi millionaires. Helena
We caused the situation in Iraq adn Libya; we are partially to blame for the situation in Syria. Historically, of course, we (the West) has poked its nose into so many places and destabilised them.
This time it's huge and it's life changing.
The UK's answer is to send some quantitatively eased money to Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, adn let it be their problem. It's not. It's everyone's problem.
And seeing kids like that makes me so angry that the UK isn't doing enough. Still, we had a prime minister that left his own children in the pub, so he was hardly likely to be particularly sympathetic to any one else's!
Call me a cynic, but that photo looks a bit too composed for my liking. Not disagreeing that the situation they are in is shite, and we (the west) are to blame.
I'm with Frau Merkel.
ReplyDeleteYes. It's not ideal, and it's caused problems and possibly will cost her her job. But what is the alternative?
DeleteIs it to dump them on Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq?
Is it to leave them in Greece?
Is it to do what Katie Hopkins wants? Drown them all in the Mediterranean?
Unlike HM government,Merkel has shown great leadership and compassion in these dreadful circumstances.
ReplyDeleteThose poor kids!

ReplyDeleteIt's heartbreaking, Helena.

That's the trouble with the net... you really can't tell. But as you say, whether or not that is posed by actors, it's happening.
DeleteHere's a good video, telling the truth...
