IF GEORGE SETS UP IN BUSINESS AS A SLATER AND ROOFER...

POINT HIM IN THE DIRECTION OF THE TOWELS THAT NEED FOLDED

He was pretty crap at towel folding, but for heaven's sake, he was just a joke as the Finance Secretary. I wish the queen joy at having him as a companion, of honour, or indeed anything else. A word to the wise, Liz, if he offers to do the roof at Balmoral, tell him to bugger off.

The britnat media in Scotland will be quick, sycophantically quick, to agree with Gideon. They're a dab hand at that.

    1. Most of us though won't remember the sun shining or the slater coming. In fact we may actually remember someone coming to take the tiles away!

I'm glad you decided to change your name to Dan. Dab didn't really suit you! :)

  2. Gideon is gone. He doesn't need a life peerage, he can inherit his fathers.

In the meantime the Tories and SNP moderates scramble desperately to clean up this mess.

Labour? They're busy having their annual leadership election - fat lot of good those dishonest twits are.

    1. It's a Baronetcy, Dean. He'll become Sir George when his dad dies. I dare say he will go to the Lords when he's finished being an MP.

It's certainly a terrible legacy, but it can only be sorted by the Tories. They are in government.

I wonder how long it will be before labour has another leadership election in Scotland.

    1. Whit pish are you on?
The mess was created by the red Tories and perpetuated by the blue ones, F**k all to do with the SNP, you and yer ilk can sod off, and stop trying to pass off your abject failure to do anything positive on the Scottish government that none of you wanted, but can't stop being fekin children about, whence complaining about why the world won't be the way you want it.
Sturgeon, does not belong in the same sentence as that eejit.

      May.

    3. jimnarlene,

I think I prefer 'eejit' to 'idiot' - it seems to convey more contempt regarding the person concerned...

    4. I'd say the idea of Nicola working with Mrs May is highly unlikely. They don't want the same things.

I don't think we get the truth about the economy, what we borrow and what we spend things on. It seems to me that this country fails in most areas and really hedges it's bets on fantasy non money from the finacial sector and houses. This country is on it's knees as is most western economies, we should be looking at bringing in work programmes that empliy people on at the least the living wage and start to fix all the things that are broken like the roads, the parks, the schools etc. Those people would then pay tax, but things in their community, be healthier and so on. We would get most of the money back one way or the other or am I just ignorant about economics. I do know that trusting the politicians and the markets has pretty much destroyed this country and most of the western economies by the look of things so the days of trusting the politicians and so called experts are well gone or should be, but as long as the 1% control the money and the power things will get worse not better and it will probably take a revoloution to change things and that won't happen in the UK, we are too passive.

    1. Work creates wealth which in turn creates demand which creates work which creates wealth.

      So you are right.

Pumping money into the economy is the way to do that. Build roads, bridges, houses for rent, houses to buy, new railways to take the load off the overcrowded roads... all that pays money to ordinary people who will spend it mainly in the country (as opposed Philip Green who spends it in Monaco).

      How simple can it be?

I know there's more to it than that, but that's the basis as I see it.
