NOW WE KNOW WHY THE TORIES AREN'T DOING SO WELL...

Clearly we peasants are revolting.
I wonder if Boris can explain why Labour is
doing so badly.

  1. Now anyone without an Oxford Degree and lots of money in the bank and some claim to the aristocracy is a peasant, but only you can allow them to call you that. I stopped thinking of myself as a serf a long time ago.

    1. Yes, but I think that it shows that the class divide has never gone from that sort.

You and I may no longer consider ourselves serfs of peasants, but they still look upon us as such.

England is theirs and we are put there to serve them... and that includes the Celts.

  2. I'd always thought that the UK is heading back to Dickensian times, but hadn't realised that we were in fact heading back to Wat Tyler's?

    Thanks BoJo.

    1. HI David.

Well, as I said, that is how they see us.

They always have from their early days at prep school, Eton, one of the posher colleges at Oxford and on to a seat in government.

They were born to rule; we were born to serve them.

  3. The bumbling fool mask that Boris Johnson wears is just an act he is a ruthless ambitious and callous man, who couldn't care less about the wee man or woman on the street, a typical Tory really.

I see J K Rowling has nailed flag to the better Together pole, by donating a million quid to them, hopefully we'll never hear the saying " J K Rowling is a honoury Scot, again".

    1. I'd say he was probably quite clever...I mean he does, of all of them seem to have learned something at Eton and Oxford, even if it was Latin.

But morons don't cope well with Latin, and he did.

I'd say he means to be Prime Minister one day.

I hope not in my country.

  4. I knew her landlady, then she bought half the hoose then she bought all the hoose. Her landlady got a decent deal from what I could see but it didn't do her much good, she died in her early fifties. I cannot say why I never liked Jakey as someone described her, I think that she got it easy, all this about writing in a cafe, very picturesque but what real single Mum can actually afford to even buy a cup of coffee. Just looking for her Baroness, pals with my favourite Labour man oor Gordie.

    1. She's always been close to Gordon's wife, (whose name I can't remember).

She gave a million to the Labour party to help them win the last election and keep Gordon as PM. Well, you would for your mate's spouse, wouldn't you?

She's entitled to support the NO Hope side as much as the Weirs have supported the Yes Scotland side. She's prpobably got more money than them. She's a shrewd business woman. Labour to her roots!

The Weirs want a fairer better Scotland and have paid out to try to ensure they get it.

She wants whatever it is she wants, and yes probably a seat in the Lords. But it's her money; her business what she does with it.

She wasted her million last time with Labour, I hope she has similarly wasted this million.

  6. I saw the Yes flag flying at the Chamber of Commerce building here in Dundee today. It is huge! A peasants revolt.

    1. Indeed... When I saw it yesterday there was no wind at all and it was hanging limp. But I could still tell it was a yes flag...

I was glad to see it because I'd just come from meeting an old friend who told me that she was against independence and refused to talk about it.

    1. Dean,

I've been like a manic depressive with opinion polls.

I really do think that more people are engaging in this referendum than have engaged in day to day politics in a heck of a long time.

So, we are gradually becoming more engaged and educated citizens.

Frankly, I think we will win, but we need to keep pushing the yes agenda.

This is going to be closer than I ever wanted it to be......

    2. It's a move in the right direction, I'd say, Dean. But I'm instinctively wary of reading very much into polls.

They will get more desperate as the last few months arrive. The BBC appears to have absolutely no intention of trying to keep the debate even vaguely centred, and of course they will have the queen up here doing her bit for the union.

I still think they will throw a stunt in the last few days when there won't be the chance for YES to deal effectively with it.

Heaven knows what, but I trust these people as much as I trust a cornered swan. They can't afford to lose this. We can't afford to let them win.

What do you think of Gordon's intervention, saying that Cameron should debate with Salmond?

    1. Thanks Marcia. I didn't realise the Cameron influence was so dramatic.

I can't understand why, to be honest. This is forever and if the Tories don;t get in next time, they will get in the time after... So we're talking either in a year or in 6 years. it's not impossible that whoever gets in will have to work with Ukip.

      In any case, Labour isn't really that different from the Tories... Same cuts; same attitude to Europe; same deference to the USA; same pension age increases; same privatisations;

What';s gonna be different? Mildly Weird Miliband instead of Clod Cameron, and if Labour were to get into Edinburgh too, bang would go everything we have worked for that makes life a bit less awful for poor folk... The scrounging something for nothing scum that they are... eh Johann?

  9. Dean I think there is a tremendous amount of fiddling with how the questions and note the word questions are being set. There is only one question to be answered, so no element of doubt, Do you want Scotland to be an Independent Country. there are no ifs no buts, but the Pollsters are using all sorts of questions to arrive at the one they want and then they are still having difficulty.
Why on earth do you think we are getting all this cybernattery business, why are they trotting out the lies and half truths, why is Alistair Darling losing the plot and not being "Statesman" like. They know they are losing.

    1. I can't help wondering though, what on earth Gordon is doing breaking ranks.

Is he out to do Alistair down because of the long standing hatred between them, or does he genuinely believe that the senior man in both countries should debate?

  10. Gordon wants to be in charge, we thought he was keeping a low profile until he saw which way the wind was blawing. He likes to win, ergo he never stands for something he just might lose. I believe he and Alistair were both out in Edinburgh ferrying voters to the polls together circa 2011 and we all know how that played. Politicians hate one and other, well many of them, their ego's get in the road.
