THE JOB CENTRE HAS GOT TARGETS FOR SANCTIONS

Action this day Mr Duncan Snuff.

A bloke on my Facebook feed has just got a job. it's only a part time one. it was all that there was, but he is absolutely over the moon.

He won't get his pay for another 3.5 weeks, and today he got a payment of £110 from DWP to last him till pay day.

Is this what you call HELPING PEOPLE INTO WORK, Smith? because if it is, you have a bloody funny idea about what the word "HELP" means. Maybe a course in English is in order...one that you finish this time, perhaps?

Someone else has commented on my friend's post as follows. I've obscured his name because I'm sure that if the DWP finds out who he is, he will be left to starve to death. Such is the job of life at the bottom in modern Britain.

XXXXXX XXXXXXXXX: I signed on today and over heard two staff saying to each other 'we have not met our sanctions for this week, just had an email about it'. Sorry i did not get their names but it was in the job centre in High Riggs in Edinburgh AT XXXX hrs.

Comments, you ******* ****-***** *******?

  1. The only non-sweary word I can think of is despicable. I just wish he had to endure his own reforms and have to suffer having no money for 10mths at least.
I've been reading your blog for a wee while now and love it thank you

    1. If ever there was someone worthy of people's hatred, it is him.

The tell us there are no targets for sanctions, and yet, we all know that there are.

Thanks, M, for your kind words. :)

  2. I think I can see why the Yes campaign continues to be positive and nice, but sometimes I do think that sticking the knife in and twisting it, a bit like Paul has done in the piece you link to, might have more impact.

I think people are used to dog fights between politicians, and although there may be some who are impressed by Yes's positivity, I wonder if some of it is going unnoticed.

Having a foreign owned press and a state dependent broadcaster doesn't help. STV being owned by ITV isn't an asset either.

I still think things are looking a lot better than the polls suggest. If there were a commanding lead for No, would they be making the very concessions that they absolutely refused to make only a year ago, and trotting out the serial pledge signer to pledge more powers to Scotland?

You don't do that when you are winning.

  4. That will the sanctions that DWP do NOT operate of course Tris. Oh and ATOS do NOT operate sanctions either do they? Well at least there is one good thing out of this, ATOS are out the door, the bad news is that whoever takes over killing the innocents will of course take up on the sanctions business.

I've just had a wee thought here Tris. As DWP and ATOS/whoever are so engrossed in delivering SANCTIONS as opposed to SERVICE perhaps they rather than Cameron's government should take up the sanctions business against Russia and Israel! After all they are so damned good at getting sanctions to work!

    1. What a brilliant idea, Arbroath.

They can do it clandestinely, just like they do with poor people

  5. Tris there was a Poll taken in the Southern Borders, you know Dumfries and Galloway, Tory Country, they have come out for YES. Unfortunately I cannot remember the percentages, someone posted it on Wings.
Anonymous, it is only 41 Labour MPs nowadays thank God. 11 Lib Dems, I Tory tosser and 6 SNP. We are only allowed to have 59 MPs for the whole of Scotland but we have well over 800 Lords, more appointed today. Democracy do not make me laugh.

    1. Just read about it on Scot Goes Pop, and retweeted. Dundee, Highlands and Glasgow too according to James's correspondent. Small samples, mind I think.

More lords today...? For goodness sake. How is this reducing the cost of democracy? In fact how is it democracy?

    2. ANON. Boy are you in for a shock Scotland has been subsidising London and Westminster for more than 30 years now, in a couple of weeks time the gravy train will be derailed, London will protect itself and the rest of the UK will be cast adrift. Cameron and Miliband have both promised years of deeper cuts and austerity, and with a Westminster debt of over £1.3 trillion quid, they'll be no escape route for the NHS in England, you'll need to find billion more to replace North sea revenue, and billions more if Tory/Labour decide to base Trident in Wales or England, not to mention the 800 odd Lords in the House of Lords who receive £300 quid a day just for nodding of on the bright red benches.

Good luck you're going to need it.

    3. Nicely put. But I'm sure they have taken all this into consideration.

Bound to have otherwise they wouldn't be so cocksure....

  8. Sorry, it's you people that vote often.

And it was your toxic banks, not ours. The parts that made the great big loses were based in London regulated by Move over Darling

  9. So the poor guys to exist on £110 quid for three weeks, then his pay packet will no doubt be short as well as they'll bump him on to emergency tax. What get me is the DWP act as though its their own monies and not the monies of the taxpayer. As for sanctions I'm sure folk going into the job centre (Should be renamed the punishment centre) are afraid to look anyone one in the eye, in case they are sanctioned for 3 months, which includes no benefit and no housing benefit.

Oh how I hope that lowlife piece of dog sh*t IDS and his side kick McVile, get their just desserts, the pain and suffering they've caused not just in Scotland but the rest of the UK, will take decades to abate, but that's not even on the cards Miliband and Cameron have vowed to cut deeper and harder than ever, if elected in 2015, we in Scotland would need to be raving lunatics to remain in a union, that will be full of tears and suffering for a long time to come.

    1. They have targets to save money.

They should get people into work to do so, but despite what IDS says there really aren't enough jobs to go around...just like there aren't enough houses to go around.

So to make up for that they have to set them targets to be tough. The staff are by and large human beings. They don't want to hurt people. I've worked there, and there are people who swing the lead; the lie and cheat to get as much as they can while working on the side. So maybe sometimes, some of the staff err.

The things is that they never hurt the real hard nuts, because there ate too many stories of the hard nuts taking baseball bats to them.

Yes, I hope that lying lump of rubbish gets what he deserves. Don't forget Lord Fraud, made a lord by for his services to a labour government then happy to take a Tory posting doing something he knows absolutely sod all about.

Yes, we'd be mad to stay in their "union". I hope we are not mad.

    1. Right enough Niko. Alistair Darling of the Tories. A world class flipper, I mean statesperson and one time member of the Faculty of Advocates.

Tell me something petal... Why is it that the polls showed that as far as no supporters (including those bussed in to say so, and Jackie Bailey's pants) Alistair won by 80-20...And, according to Independence supporters Eck won b jut not as handsomely as they had hoped he would... but the people who counted, the undecideds, the move was to yes?

      Just wondering.

BTW Niko. Are you a Hearts or a Hibs man?

      Delete
    2. I would say that he is a Hearts man along with the despicable Salmond and the Nice Lord Foulkes. I used to see Bernard Gallagher at Hibs games but as he's come out for the No campaign he can sod off. No true Hbs fan would vote for that lot!

I see you've attracted a pet troll to provide some competition for Nico but he'll never out-do our Niko no matter how nonsensical his posts may be.

    3. He's being cagey about this. I think he must be a Hearts man. Probably meets Eck there.

Yes, we managed to get a troll. It's good. It doesn't cost much to keep either. We just throw it some scraps for the rich Munguin's table.

      Very satisfactory.

But he'll NEVER replace our Niko
