BECAUSE THE ONLY NEWS IS THE TORY LEADERSHIP REFERENDUM...

...And we can't be bothered to write about it. After all, either George will win, in which case we're in trouble, or Boris will win, in which case we'll be... erm, in trouble.

So I thought we'd have a nice gentle, non demanding look at Tory hypocrisy... not that other parties don't engage in these things, the Tories are just more amusing, and more powerful.

    2. Dear Mr Brownlie and British Labour in Scotland,

Whilst we at Munguin's Republic understand that the Scottish people voted for 20 more years of Tory government from the Imperial capital, we would remind you that this is Great britain, that bastion of freedom and democracy, where views other than those of the BBC, sorry, I mean London government (although the two are easily confused, being so similar), are permitted.

Clearly Munguin's Republic understands the benefits that are brought to our great imperial capital city by, for example, our glorious, brave and hardworking royal family, the City of London (the watchword for financial probity the world over), the House of Lords (an example to us all of what striving can get you...take note skivers who aren't members), etc, etc> However, we reserve the right to speak up for the millions of people in OUR united kingdom who do not benefit from these bounties, Munguin included (at the time of writing).

Consequently, we take the attitude that just occasionally it is not unreasonable to point out the deficiencies (small though they may be) of being a part of this glorious union, punching above our weight and giving Johnny Foreigner (except the big countries) a good tongue lashing from time to time. 还有什么我们能为你做什么,主席先生)

We must remember that, without criticism, even the greatest of political parties (read The Conservative adn Unionist Party) may become a little, how shall we put it, "up their own arses" and neglectful of the needs of the people who elected them, even if if was only 28% of the population. Some might argue that they may have used slight of hand to even get elected!

We trust that you will understand, then, that from time to time we find it necessary to bring these small criticisms to the eyes and ears of the Great British (and Northern Ireland) peoples.

Clearly we intend no disrespect to the democratic will of the people of Scotland, and the lies of Gordon Brown.

      Yours sincerely

      per pro Munguin's Republic

    1. I expected a bit of a battering from Dean this morning, but nothing.

However, allowing for time differences, it may yet come!

I sick of politicians now and that is what my most recent rant is about. They can't be trusted individually or even as a body. I appreciate there are some decent ones in the SNP etc but as a body they have to do more and they have to do better and that means rocking the boat and stating to disrupt if that stupid westeminster system won't hear them.

    1. Totally agree, Bruce.
The SNP shouldn't manage the Westminster system, it should act to disrupt and cause it to be unworkable.

    2. I think, to be fair, Bruce, there are a few decent ones in every party, possibly even the Tories (although I'm not sure about them or Ukip, which seems to be filled with nutters that think that floods are caused by gay marriage or the SNP winning the election!).

I've been choking myself with the news today. It's beyond farce.

Once I would have said that when we are in their parliament we play by their rules, but their rules are beyond corrupt. Not sure what to do.
