  1. Aye, what a great orator.

We're lucky to have Nicola as Scotland's first minister.

    1. Yes, and lucky to have someone who will protect our human rights.

Heaven help those who don;t have someone fighting for them.

She may force Cameron to take action against the Scottish government if she won't accept their dictat and the Scottish parliament votes his legislation down. He's left with the choice of backing down... or forcing his law on Scotland.

      Lose lose ....

  2. Nicola doing what she does best!

I'm thinking Cameron is too busy parking certain parts of his anatomy into certain bits and pieces of a certain species of quadruped to be interested in listening to this fantastic oration from our fantastic First Minister.

    1. She is an amazing communicator. Amazingly, given she is a politician, I actually believe her.

As for the other thing, I wonder how many jokes were being cracked behind his back in Brussels yesterday?

Lucky for him the VW scandal erupted and made Merkel a subject of speculation.

I think Cameron will take on the Scottish Government because he will have to. Tories hate the Human Rights Act, as they do employment rights, or any rights. He will be forced to try and force the SG to try and step down but I would not be surprised of a wee ammendment from the Lords to the Scotland Bill, we can't have Scotland dictating to England now can we.

    1. Damn, I'd forgotten that they have that up their sleeves, Bruce.

And with the BBC and the friendly English press on their side, why would we ever know about it?

  4. I have to say that is my take on this, again I agree with Bruce. I would love to see the same end as Mark gave his book. Time will come when the Scots, all Scots will have to decide where their best interests lie and it will take a big decision to make it.

    1. Ah yes. Mark's book was a corker.

If it comes to that sort of war, people will have to make up their minds and choose.

  5. Let's be absolutely clear that the only regulations that our Tory government are interested in are those which restrict our democratic rights.
We are subjects who will do as we are felt......or else!

    2. Ha ha... you never know what will get felt with the Tories around.

But they do seem to be intent on reducing our rights to privacy, to (in England) fair trials, to free education, free heath care and (in the UK) to dignity when out of work or ill.

Of course with the murder of two British citizens in Syria, accused of terrorism, but unproven, THEY also seem to think they have the same rights as their friends in Bahrain or Saudi, that of execution without trial.

      Saves all this trial nonsense.

Pig's ear? As long as that's all it is!!!

    3. I read all the stuff about the pig, but this type of ritual in hallowed halls is not news. What did concern me, coming out of Ashcroft's revenge, is the claim that cameron tried to interfere in matters of military tactics and strategy in Middle East. Now, for me, that really is worrying.

    4. Hitler did the same thing and we know how that turned out.

    5. I think, as Nicola said, it was not really that important, compared with some of the other revelations.

I think several leader, including Churchill, have tried to interfere in military tactics, given that the public hole the PM responsible for wins and losses (even if technically the troops report to the Sax Coburgs, not the PM.

I do;t think it ever goes well. I understand that Churchill's orders were often ignored by people who knew a lot better than him.

That Cameron would get involved in anything like that is beyond belief.

I've not read any of the revelations though, so I don't know.

  6. Fantastic speech, with a strong message to the world, that Scotland is a fair an open society, that wishes to protect the vulnerable from harm.

  7. See that Nichola Sturgeon?

    Balls of steel.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is leading from the front with no apology, no triangulation. That is telling truth to power.

That is who I want to represent me on a world stage, no-one else.

    1. Indeed. Compare the straightforward, ordinary, decent common sense with the drivel that comes out of Cameron's mouth.

      Give me Nicola any day.
