RANDOM THOUGHTS

Thanks to Bugger le Panda for reminding me on Twitter that The 'Hon' Marie Rimmer MP, is in court tomorrow on a charge of assault against a YES supporter during the referendum campaign.
As Aesop said: You are known by the company you keep. If I were either of them I'm not sure I'd be too happy about that.
So, erm, Angela, which one is it? It can't be both.
Theresa May, you say?
Oh do go away, Straw Man. The Hague is nice at the time of the year.
How many of these rusting subs must we keep in Scotland?
When will they be decommissioned?

  1. Have to say that I was less than impressed with Angela Eagle when being interviewed on Good morning, Scotland. She appeared to be reading, rather badly, from a prepared speech and gave no adequate response to the questions asked. If she really is going to be the new Labour leader then I fear for that party and their chances of winning a General election. If I were a Labourite I would be trying to persuade Chuka Umunna to throw his hat back in the ring. He is just about everything that M/s Eagle is not.

Heard the first sentence of Madame May's press conference where she claimed "I am honoured and humbled..." - two qualities not readily associated with her. Aye, start as you mean to go on, Theresa!

    1. As far as Mrs May is concerned, I am reminded of Mrs Thatcher's words on her accession to the throne: 'Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith.'

She spent the rest of her career doing the exact opposite. Where there was harmony she brought discord; where there might have been some truth, she brought lies, and by the end of her reign no one with any brains had faith in anything much. So I imagine that May isn't in the least honoured, just relieved that Gideon didn't get it, and the idea of her being humble is not convincing. Bad start.

As for Eagle, she seems to stutter her way through every interview. I don't think she'll win, but if she does, by having Corbyn excluded, she will, in the process, break the Labour Party in two.

Does anyone know whether Kezia like or loathes Jeremy today?

    2. You would have to phone CIA headquarters to ask her, Tris. She is presently in the US undergoing 'training' in how her new brain implant works.
I think Blairs implant must be in meltdown by now.

    3. LOL Jutie. I heard she was off to Band Camp or some such thing. I thought that they might teach her how to play the bassoon instead of... the triangle? (Ah, see, you thought I was going to say something else that kinda goes with bassoon!)

  2. Eagle claims Corbyn is unelectable and that "protest" is not enough, he needs to "persuade". And that she has the necessary qualities. This from the woman who got knocked out in the second round of the Deputy Leader contest.

    1. Exactly. Her only chance is if they refuse to let Corbyn on the ballot, in which case I predict two Labour parties in the near future.

  3. As I mentioned before, Eagle seems really soulless and uninspiring like Johann. Umunna would appear to be a much better leader. However we had someone before who looked and sounded good on TV (Blair) and look where that got us!

Let Westminster follow Straw's lead and outlaw a future Referendum (and by extension the SNP). We would be independent within a year.

    1. She is not arm or inspiring in the least... and of course she voted for all the nasty things they did and was with Harman all the way, when she was virtually aping the Tories after the last UK elections.

Ummuna is certainly more 'appealing', and I can understand the need for that, but as far as I can make out he's a right winger, and as you say, Blair had popular appeal!

Utterly agree. If Straw's referendum ban had been enacted we would have been independent by now, one way or another.

  4. Surprised that she didn't do a Frank Bruno at her TV conference:
    "Where's Arry?"
She seemed to be asking for just about everyone else....without response.
Needs lessons in stage management, perhaps Broon could help her out.

    1. Well, they all heard that Tessy was the only contender for PM and was giving a press conference. Clearly Eagle wasn't any longer of any interest...so they all left.

You have to remember that Brown is so rich he can afford carpets he wears out when he's doing these things. Maybe eh should go to the bathroom before he starts?

  5. Corbyn is on the ballot, Blairites will be incandescent, they should just join the Tories, for that is where they belong.

    1. Did you see the BBC interview with Mcteacake?

He was ranting fit to bust.

Wee shame, as my dear friend Spook would have said, had he still been blogging.

  6. That Rimmer woman was not an MP at the time of the Referendum, just a councillor with from what I have read on the internet has a colourful past. You are permitted to check the facts for yourself.

    1. I believe Councillor Rimmer is unfortunately like so many in the Labour Party, the sort who brings the said Party into disrepute. Nice to see the BBC calling the victim a liar. Helena

    2. Yes, that's true, Marcia. Her Honourable status came later.

I must have a look at her past. She looks like a bruiser though.

Well, Helena, the BBC would never miss an opportunity to call independence supporters liars. I dare say they think Ms Rimmer is a wee angel by comparison to say, my mum, a strong independence supporter.
