Made my Sunday, was going out then we got some of what they call it in the Caribbean "liquid sunshine" or what is more often called that damned rain here. Been out and dead headed the Dahlia's and my one and only but quite beautiful anonymous rose, got it in the garden centre but it had lost it's name tag, an absolute gorgeous orange, so bright it looks artificial. Aren't some of our closest relatives gorgeous babies, Dad tends not to look so gorgeous when he gets old but then who does. Puppies you have to hate dogs to resist them, mind those three are not my Hektor's favourite breed, he has some but most are a no no. Now the tortoise is my favourite this week, love knows no boundaries, well except for the Tories,
Nature pictures no matter were from in the world should alert the wider public that unless we respect all forms of natural species our very existence is dependant on them remaining in their natural habitat.
Tris, Just catching up after being in the care of the NHS (Monklands Hospital) since Saturday morning. From the paramedics who were called out, to the A and E staff, the porters who ferried me about, the ward staff doctors and radiographers who participated in my diagnosis and prognosis, all wonderful people. Makes me angry when those nere do wells at the BBC trash their efforts through selective use of numbers.
Gave me a chance too to finish GA Ponsenby's book "London Calling" Everyone should try to get hold of a copy and read it. Ask for it at your local library if you can't afford to buy it.
I hope you've made a complete recovery...and whatever it was that ailed you has been sent packing.
By and large the NHS, in Wales, NI, England or Scotland is excellent. There are faults in it, but where are there not faults? And there are limitations on the amount of cash that can be spent. If we spent on nothing but NHS there would still not be enough money.
I'm looking forward to reading the book. I helped with the crowd funding I think...
Lovely pictures again. The three puppies - I guess that's them grown up underneath? I do like the hobbit house at the end.
ReplyDeleteAnd folks I only sent in the first orang picture, I guess I've convinced Tris of their cuteness!
Correct PP, it's the same three puppies all grown up. And the wee hobbit house is in New Zealand. I love it too. Imagine living there!
DeleteWho could possibly say that orags aren't cute? They even melt Munguin's stony heart!
Lovely pictures as always. These cheer you up on Sundays.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you say that Marcia. They are designed as a pick me up...a contrast to all the horrors of a normal week in politics.

ReplyDeleteYes, I agree completely.
