  2. 25% of misguided Scos voted for the snp does this give them a mandate
and if so what is all the shite about Scotlands MPs voting one way or another
at Westminster if you are saying Westminster is unrepresentative of Scotlands MPs
is the snp on 25% of the potential vote on your elastic concept of Democracy representative of all the scots answer NO.

And why is the snps result at Westminster elections so dismal
answer cos the Scots dont vote for them.

I think you mean Labour who attack people with disability etc. I think you will find Labour employed ATOS, the company that are continuing the work Labour employed them to do for the Torys.

Or maybe you mean the government that closed 28 Remploy factories. I think you will find that Gordon Brown was Prime Minister when that happened.

  5. Graham Reid is an ex-councillor actually...

so he isn't a 'plant', just an ordinary LibDem voter these days. More evidence of cybernat paranoia.

A card carrying LibDem for nearly 4 decades has suddenly become a neutral member of the great unwashed! A miracle only in a BritNats mind.

Funnily enough on Questionable Time Mr Reid was described as a small business man. No mention of him having been a Lib Dem councillor, or indeed a member of the Lib Dems.

Were the BBC or perhaps Mr Reid ashamed to admit that they had found one of the few Lib Dems left in Scotland.

  7. Niko, as you very well know, there is no democracy in the UK.

We've been through this before. If you look at the number of votes cast compared to the number of seats gained, the results are a travesty of justice.

If I remember rightly the three UK parties in the last UK election were: 11 million for the Tories, 9 million for Labour and 7 million for the Liberals. Out of which the liberals got 57 seats, while the Tories with fewer than twice their votes got 307.

Now the Liberals a a pile op pants, I'd agree, but their votes should have gained them around 200 seats, if the Tories' vote : seat ratio is the benchmark.

of course you have to add to that that, because of the system of promotions and the whipping system the prime minister is usually a virtual dictator. Only in cases where the prime minister is a weak fool that no one expects to be around in a few years (and therefore whose patronage isn't worth diddly spit) is there ever any rebellion.

Then there is a house of placemen and aristos, and finally an hereditary monarch.

Brilliant. Very democratic, erm isn't it.

The SNP got 6 seats on a vote of half a million. Compared to that, with 8 million votes, Labour was only entitled to 96 seats, in the whole UK.

Ukip got 900,000 votes and no seats... Again, I don't want to see any of them anywhere near anything with moving parts, it hardly seems fair to all the people who voted for them, that they got NIL representation.

No wonder Mr Cameron begged a pleaded with us not to change his precious voting system... and bless us, we didn't.

  9. Yep, Dubs and the SNP council is working with a variety of partners, including the Scottish government to keep our factory open.

ironic that Gordon Brown is working to keep a factory in Fife open, when he was so happy to close them in other people's constituencies.

  10. Hi GV... You're welcome to pinch anything from here... as you'll have guessed, I didn't exactly draw them all myself!!!! :)

  11. Dean... I think your point has been answered. The BBC and Mr Reid were obviously not keen on owning up that he was a Liberal through and through. Not is the least unbiased.

The bedroom tax is social cleansing, the bedroom tax is a way of actually forcing people into having to eat horse or its a rather crude way of promoting 5 a day. Of course they mean 5 potatos a day. The bedroom tax is Labours way of getting the waiting lists down, get the old onto the streets. First they came for the Jews and we did nothing, then they came for disabled and we did nothing, they came for ethnic minorities and we did nothing but we still voted Labour in Scotland. Then they came for Scotland and there was no one left to stand up for us, Bitter Together.

Just to clarify, this is Labours tax. In a 100 years they have done nothing for Scotland, even now when they should be shouting from the rooftops their more concerned with subsidised food at Westminster.

  16. It's time for Scotland to bring out her dead

The fact that the overwhelming majority of literate Scots have never heard of Montrose the great 17th-century warrior poet is depressing, but not surprising. It is a consequence of the pernicious neglect of Scottish history by generations of educationists who were acting as wretched Scottish Labour party quislings.

Better to keep our children ignorant about the political, cultural and spiritual development of their country than risk driving them into the arms of the Scottish nationalists. There are still some clowns in the Scottish Labour party who continue to oppose the recent introduction of a Scottish history higher on these grounds.

  18. Bruce: Together with the reduction in housing benefits, it's certainly going to clear the poor out of places like London.

Along with the undoubted rise to come in interest rates, we had better hope for good and dry weather this summer, otherwise all the people who are living on the street are going to get very wet.

They all seem to be much more interested in their own"welfare" than any one else's. I've not heard of a reduction in pay, or conditions for any of our representatives... our staff... our servants.

They work for you! What a joke!

  19. It is right that we teach Scottish history among other history in our schools. The idea that English history/British history is and the French Revolution encompasses everything that one needs to know is just tripe.

I liked the article but it seemed to get a beating in the comments. I don't watch tv very often, apart from the News and Midsommer Murders or Lewis, so I can't say whether there is any truth to it or not.

I imagine that Scotland is pretty much missed out though. It is on most other levels.

  21. I only highlighted the article tris as the MSM to call the Labour party in Scotland as quislings was worth the read.

Just to show Labour is losing touch with its grassroots.
