Well he at least is not full of his own importance, I do want to see him elected in England, what I do not want is a lot of false promises which will never be fulfilled where Scotland is concerned. I am afraid of the "just another push" scenario. I wonder how the Muppets are managing, not knowing which way to turn?
I think we could all agree with that, but it would be nice to have a Labour Party again. One that actually stood up for people and not banks. He is far better than the Blairy dross that make up his competitors.
Yes, he does. I think it's the look that we all have at the end of a day which has been hard and frustrating. if I'd been sitting on the bus, regardless of the fact he's who he is, I'd have given him my seat. He looks like he needs it.
Sadly Wullie they are that, the Establishment Party, as safe pair of hands to keep the Scots quiet. I think that still might be something they hope for, somehow, looking at the figures on Wings for last month, this is not going to happen.
Whatever your views on Corbyn's policies, he surely has to be the man who can sort Labour out. I cannot see him turning into Michael Foot (as some have hinted at, and Foot was a damn sight more intelligent than some of today's airhead politicians).
Labour must be desperate to ditch Harman as temporary leader. She's absolutely bloody useless. Makes Milliband seem like Patton.
Regarding the "man of the people" comment; ALL politicians have to be seen with the "normal" people, regardless of party. Sturgeon does it, Salmond and Blair was masters of it. It's a necessary part of politics.
Mr Foot was certainly intelligent, far more so probably than most of his opponents. But when he was leader he was probably out of step with his times... and it didn't help for the traditionalists that he really didn't look the part with his glasses held together with cellotape.
Mind you the "donkey jacket" wasn't a donkey jacket. It was, I'm assured, a very expensive jacket.
But you know...what if it were? Are we so shallow that it matters more what we wear than what we say and do?
Yes, obviously.
I don't know what happened to Harman. She had a dubious side to her of course, looking back, but she's become a total joke. I reckon she's looking for a seat in the HoL.
The one thing about labour is their consistency of purpose ,since the fall of soviet communism the treacherous filth have seamlessly transferred their allegiance to its successor the marxist EUSSR dictatorship.
Erm... by and large it was the Tories who supported the EU until Mrs Thatcher's dislike of foreigners and everything foreign turned them off it. Mr Heath took us in.
Labour was originally against the EU and many of the left of the party remained as such. Tony Benn hated it.
I think the worries is spot on. If he wins, then he is stuck with the situation unique to the Labour Party - he has to balance party policies with both the union and business leaders, whereas all the other parties only have to deal with business leaders. (Well, apart from bloody Scargill's mob and other associated commies).
I'd say politics is a game of sorts. A short term game (independence aside for now). Every few years you roll the political dice and hope your numbers turn up. Elections are the only time that voters count for anything. Oh yes, you tweak them occasionally, but the objective seems to be pushing everything into winning the next election.
Or in the case of the Lib Dems....... survival.........
As Niko pointed out, a Corbyn Labour party may mean that there will be no Labour government for 10 years... but Burnham or Cooper government is more or less a Tory government anyway.
And yes, the only thing that seems to motivate them is power... power more or less for itself.
There must be the lure of buck House, kissing hands, going to Washington, kissing hands and playing the president's go for all over the world...sending troop in, going down in history for as many foreigners murdered as possible... then of course after it's all over the real money making begins...ask Blair the millionaire.

DeleteDoesn't he look tired?
ReplyDeleteYes, he does. I think it's the look that we all have at the end of a day which has been hard and frustrating. if I'd been sitting on the bus, regardless of the fact he's who he is, I'd have given him my seat. He looks like he needs it.
DeleteAnother commie doing his 'man of the people' act .
ReplyDeleteI have a lot more confidence in that than the new appointment to the House of Lords. The Duchess of Bra.
DeleteNow thats a labour man maybe he can bring the labour party back to the people where it always belonged im definatley rooting for him.
ReplyDeleteHope so Ggq... Otherwise they may as well expire. I hear Ms Harman is being warlike with the French. They must pay England compensation.
DeleteIf I were the French and they came at me like that, I'd just open the border.
Labour are the Tories in Scotland, always have been always will be no matter who leads them.
ReplyDeleteWullie
Sadly Wullie they are that, the Establishment Party, as safe pair of hands to keep the Scots quiet. I think that still might be something they hope for, somehow, looking at the figures on Wings for last month, this is not going to happen.

DeleteWings has done brilliantly, Helena.

ReplyDeleteWell enjoy your Tory party mark 2 as you will definitely find if they ever get anywhere.

Do you ever get fed up with insane fucks messing up your pristine website Tris?
ReplyDeleteconan
Deletetris is a real man of the people unlike youse he allows freedom
of speech which means some comments youse dinae like
are welcome in the republic.....
But me and tris are far more worried about insane fucks messing up OUR world.
anyway you just toddle off to yer new abode in the Torygraph.
Vote Corbyn you know it makes sense
LOL LOL LOL...
DeleteI just know you too are the best of mates anyway.
Nah, Conan, doesn't bother me. I'm glad to give them a platform for their guff... They usually make arses of themselves pretty fast.
I just wish I was blessed with the wit and quick thinking of James (Scot Goes Pop). He deals with havers so eloquently.
I reckon I'd like to be a man of the people Niko... but I suspect that Conan is too, probably much more so than I am.
You're right about the ones mucking up our world, for all the reasons that they have always done it...
Get rid of them and get Corbyn leading England and Sturgeon leading Scotland.
Then ordinary folks will get a turn again.
Always nice to get a compliment from you matey! :)
Ouch ... just lookead at that..
DeleteYou TWO, not too!
Sorry ... Saturday night.... what can I say?
You know what? I think he looks like a man with all the worries of the world on his shoulders.
ReplyDelete"And what if I win?" May be going through his head.
He knows that decent people in the Labour Party will have elected him. He knows also that the indecent members will try to tumble him down.
There is a fundamental dichotomy between being decent and of the left and being electable.
Accepting that politics is 'just a game' is where we are being 'led'. If the politics is just the same then what is the point of it?
“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”
Seems to sum it up for me.
I think the worries is spot on. It's not a job I would relish.
