NEW APPRENTICESHIPS AT FERGUSON

12 comments:

  1. Westminster is all about CUTS ... CUTS ... and even MORE CUTS!

Meanwhile in Scotland a PRO independence supporter buys up a small shipyard that was in administration and before you can give a lamb's tail two shakes not only is the shipyard still going but it is INCREASING its young apprenticeships!

You just got to love everyone who can stand up and show two fingers to Porky, Ozzy and co.

  3. And these are real apprenticeships. Not the usual low pay jobs with NO training that are passed off as such.

    1. Good job, with a real future.

Let's have more if we can.

  4. Engineering skills are critical for any economy. You cannot rely on one or two sectors, but need a broad an area as possible, since some industries will decline.

    1. Agreed. We need a wide range of skills . If we have that we will attract work.

A report said the other day that there was little point in expanding the HS2 to Manchester and Liverpool because of the atrocious educational attainments there. There will be no Northern Powerhouse without properly trained and skilled people.

We need to keep that in mind and not make the same mistakes.

  5. I haven't heard recently anything about where the oil rig decommissioning jobs are going. This would be a much needed boost to employment in Scotland.

    1. Massive boost. During the referendum campaign Jim Sillars was very strong on this.

      Anyone heard anything about it?
