'If it falls to me to start a fight to cut out the cancer of bent and twisted journalism in our country with the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of fair play, so be it. I am ready for the fight.'

Although Mr Aitken might have done slightly better with his operation if, on that occasion, the press hadn't been bang on right, and good old Jonathan hadn't been a lying sack of erm...cabinet minister.
Nothing to worry about there, I guess...
bring on the simple sword and trusty shield then...

By the way, just out of interest, does anyone know what British justice is?

    1. I see Niko, that the English a kicking off today about the disparity in the amount of money which is spent in London as opposed to the rest of "the country" (England) on Arts. Average spending in London is £69 per person. Elsewhere in England it is £4.60! London gold indeed!

  6. I think the interesting thing will be if found guilty will her lawyers raise the UK Governments hand in using illegal phone tapping as disclosed by Edward Snowden. Might bring about an interesting constitutional debate although I suspect that most of the meaty info has already been destroyed and the only reason she is in court is a) Cameron is confident nothing sticks on him and b) she will get a wee slap on the writst and therefor will not spill the real beans. She wasn't at the Christmas day lunch at our expense with the Cameron family last year because she is a vital family friend, me thinks Cmweron might just have been trying to keep her sweet and lesson any uncomfortable revelations about the Tories coming out.

    1. Well, yes Bruce, you are probably right.

This isn't open court like other people have. I expect various deals will have been done in advance.

But this royal charter thingy that the privy council signed in yesterday... the one where parliament will have the final say about what can or cannot be printed...

We can thank Mrs Brookes and her friends for this.

Just think of the hundreds of millions, probably billions this lot has cost us; the fact that we have a muzzled press, and the incredible hurt that these people caused.

I wonder if she sinks if thrown into water.

    2. It works if you're putting it on. It's not much good if you are actually ill, because Slaphead Smith sends you off to work in Tescos for nothing (now that Poundland has pulled out of the scheme).

      That's probably worse than stir.

Actually wouldn't it be nice to see the wicked witch working for nothing in Tesco stacking shelves....

As for Maggie Moron...I wonder how the dear soul is doing now...? (And when I say "dear" I mean very dear... outrageously expensive actually!)
