SNAPS ON SUNDAY

Lord Robertson's notes?

Lordy, Lordy, another of these scroungers who, had he managed to work a flanker
like that  and been unemployed working class ,would now be a guest of HM.

George Osborne...need we say more

Not for much longer

Oh look... a country where the views of the majority have a voice. Novel.
Still with billions to be made by friends of Osborne, that's not going to happen here.

Still, every little bit helps, as Tesco always reminds us

So generous these children's hospitals

Oh look, a cabinet meeting. I hope when he brings his cabinet on tour is
Scotland he will bring his own air freshener. Damned if I see why we should pay.

Another 10 years of this?
Oh yeah, and they have friends...
Yuk...

THINGS ON THURSDAY

Like any of us would be alive by the time it gets to the border!
This is the flag that revolts Mark Smith (the guy who is impressed
with the way  that the Vietnamese get behind their king!...
you know, the one who was deposed in 1945,
so he's obviously up to scratch with things. Idiot!

Stirling Council's Tories have withdrawn their motion
to fly the union flag over their council buildings
They can't even kill defenceless badgers.
They have had to extend the time and reduce the targets.
Thank heaven's this moron is nothing to do with us
After today's behaviour Lamont  too will be needing
a place in Darling's arms. As Bernard Ponsonby said:
Not a good day at the office for Lamont
Estoy loco.
You think the future is uncertain in Scotland? Pffff.
Well, if you can't think of another reason, here is one that will
give a lot of satisfaction
Bye Liam, you odious little right wing git

Q: WHAT KIND OF SCOT SAYS THIS?

A: I suppose the answer is, a pretty uninformed one or the kind that gives up his constituency and constituents and accepts a job at vastly more money, and prestige (even if it is as a patsy) located in Brussels... and the obligatory elevation to the arsetocracy (spelling error intentional) so that he can ponse about calling himself "Lord". In short a pretty despicable one.

We've no language? You tell that to people like Donny Macleod, a man from your own party, Robertson, who were strapped by teachers for speaking Gaelic in the school playground during London's attempt to stamp the language out for good.

They failed and fortunately OUR government is supporting the language.

As well as Scots Gaelic, of course, there is Scots. In the refined circles of the House of Parasites you probably don't hear it much spoken, with all the plumby Eton and Oxford voices, but it does exist in Scotland...(you know, the place where you started to dizzy climb to fame and wealth). They did their damndest to get rid of that too.

We've no culture you say? Well, that reminds me of George W Bush, who said of the Arabs that they had no culture... No honestly, he did. But he was an ignoramus too.

I suppose that in down there in London you'll not know much about it. And why would you. it's foreign to them. And it won't have been taught to you in school because when you were a lad education was run from London.

You'll not have learned Scottish history or literature or music. You'll know about King Henry and his 6 wives, the virgin queen and 1066; you'll have learned Shakespeare and Milton and Wordsworth, and you will have been taught the words to Jerusalem and Greensleeves. But before you make speeches about it, try examining the works of Scots authors and poets, and look at the music and paintings we have.

And it's not all in the past. You need to have a look at National Collective. Have a look at the talent and the work that is being produced today. Whilst we enjoy them too, it's not all Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tom Stoppard, which I'm sure is what you hear about when you are dozing on the red leather benches or enjoying subsidized meals in the restaurants and bars of the palace of Westminster.

Have you been to Edinburgh recently?

Incidentally, I expect that the Spanish government will be indebted to you, such a great international figure, a man of substance, for offering support to the independence movement in the Basque Country. Or maybe not.

PROJECT FEAR HAS NOTHING ON THIS PILE OF LIES FROM WESTMINSTER.

The MoD report on Independence (compiled using taxpayers’ money) has come out with some real trash. Here are just a few points from it.

All Hail to Mr Hammond from some "loyal" troops
Scotland would be more vulnerable to a catastrophic terrorist attack if Alex Salmond succeeds with his bid to break up Britain.  Hey, there are other people who want to break up Britain  Me included, so maybe Hammond would like to make it Alex Salmond and Tris PW’s bid.

Apparently, according to the Daily Heil, Britain’s top defence officials (remember that these are the people who waste billions in wrong procurement paying, if I remember aright, £10 for a light bulb that you or I could buy for 99p) have produced a damning 86-page assessment of the impact that separation would have on Scotland’s security, which warns of the terrifying threat to the everyday lives of Scots. Bloody hell. It sounds like a horror story treatment for a Hollywood film.
Don't jump... No, I was joking, Go ahead
The devastating dossier (that makes a change from dodgy) will show that the tiny defence budget proposed by the SNP could heighten the risk of a terror attack which could close down the water, gas or electricity supplies to every home and business in the country.  Erm, except…who would want to attack a little country like Scotland that won’t be poking its nose into other people’s business?

A separate Scotland may also be unable to protect itself from a ‘cyber attack’ which could see criminals or rogue states raid the bank accounts of hard-working people across the country.  Oh well, if it’s only hard working people then I’ll be alright. I wonder how the hard working people of tiny countries like Iceland or Luxembourg manage!

The report attempts to highlight the risks to a separate Scotland by showing the huge efforts already carried out to protect Scotland as part of the UK, including defence against the threat from foreign nations and terrorists and from attacks on the country’s everyday infrastructure, such as water and electricity supplies and phone and computer connections.   Oh aren't they good to us. These hard working English taxpayers working their fingers to the bone so that we lazy scrounging something for nothing smelly socks can be free. It brings a tear tae yer een, so it does.

Defence Secretary Philip Virgin Islands Hammond claimed the SNP's plans are a 'dagger poised at the heart of Scotland's industrial infrastructure'. He fails to mention, however, that there are other parties, including his own bunch of losers which are at liberty to attempt to gain power in Scotland.

He said: ‘Everything that I've seen says to me that the Scottish Government isn't really interested in defence. What it has said on defence looks like it has been made up on the back of a fag packet.  And you, Mr Hammond, know what is it exactly about defence. Aren't you the one that, that keeps a useless nuclear deterrent that belongs to America (except that Alex Salmond and Tris have helped to pay for it) while depending on TA soldiers to make up the backbone of the forces? And why would the SNP be telling a Tory about what its plans for defence are?

Hold on, just slipping my brain cell back in.
9000 direct jobs would be at risk at the Coulport and Faslane naval bases by the end of the decade as a result of the SNP’s intention to remove Trident from Scotland if it secures a yes vote in next year’s referendum.  Oh goodie, yet another figure plucked from the air top add to all the ones we have had before.

Scotland’s shipyards could lose all of their vital orders from the MoD, because it does not hand contracts to foreign countries, which could lead to the decimation of the vital shipbuilding industry. OK, so decimation actually means reduction by 1/10th, but we'll let that one go. Anyway, what will England be building in the way of war ships? Seeing as the ones they are building at the moment are going to be mothballed because they can't afford to fuel them. And at present most of the non secret ships are built in the Far East, so that’s a pile of lies.

Independence could result in the mass withdrawal of private defence firms from Scotland, as they will not want to be at risk of losing MoD work. That could prove to be disastrous for the 16,000 defence jobs based in Scotland.  The MoD doesn't have any money to spend on defence projects. The companies would be better to go locate somewhere where they have some money. China, India, Brazil, or the middle east.

No major defence firms have publicly stated their concerns about separation, but they have raised their concerns privately. Well, now that’s a surprise.  You would have thought that they would have been shouting this from the roof tops. Can I smell sh*te?  I think I can, you know.

Mr Hammond's loyal troops again
Mr Hammond is building a new offensive ‘cyber strike force’ costing up to £500 million to stave off the threat of attacks on Britain’s systems. He said building the whole cyber defensive system from scratch in an independent Scotland would need ‘huge fixed cost investment’. Why would we build it from scratch? We already paid for 9.8% of England’s system.

Hammond said: ‘There are significant economies of scale and it is clear that the UK is able to deliver a level of cyber protection for all the people of the United Kingdom as they go about their business and daily lives (WHAT?)in a way that an independent Scotland would find very difficult to do, because, presumably we're far too thick to manage things like that.

The new MOD report will be the fifth in a series of ‘Scotland Analysis’ papers produced by the UK Government at taxpayers' expense to assess the implications of independence.

It covers all areas of defence in the UK and highlights the economic and employment benefits of the industry to Scotland, as well as the damage that independence could do.  Of course, it doesn't actually do anything of the sort. It lies through its teeth to scare Scots into not taking away the massive subsidy that Scotland gives to the rest of the UK and of course a place for it to keep its nuclear fur coat where, if there is an accident only Scots will be obliterated.

Wearing a hat that they can't afford enough of
to actually give to the combat troops. Still got to protect that one's head.
He's rich
I can't help but think that Hammond of one of the more odious liars in the Uk cabinet where he has a fair amount of competition. I can actually feel myself gagging at the thought of him.

I think Cameron should get up here and debate with Salmond, if only to explain why he is wasting taxpayers money to fund this pile of lies.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO WELCOME THAT NICE MR HAMMOND TO OUR CAPITAL

Be at Selex TOMORROW (Tuesday) morning, BETWEEN 9 am and 11 am.

SELEX are defence contractors (ex Ferranti) at Crewe Toll in Edinburgh, and Hammond intends to address a meeting of defence contractors in their car park.

Take a placard, a banner, a megaphone but most importantly yourself. LIES like this must be challenged.  The Tories have slashed defence jobs and the Scottish Regiments since coming to power.  Let the media see the truth - not TORY LIES!

Well, thats more or less what the Rally for Scottish Independence is saying.

So, if you are about in Edinburgh tomorrow morning you might like to go along and boo loudly at the incredibly unlikeable Philip Hammond as he lies his way through another engagement, telling us that we are too wee, too poor and too stupid to manage our own defence, and that probably Afghanistan or North Korea will invade us, and because all soldiers hate Scotland and will defect to England after the YES result  there won't be anyone to defend us and we needn't look to the English who have had to do it for us for the last 300+ years, along with subsidising all our dependencies and habits and paying all our social security.

You know, we really are a terrible liability. I'm surprised they want to hang on to us.

Anyways, if you are free, do hold your nose and pop along to Selex in Edinburgh and let him know how much we love Tories poking their posh noses into our country.

WHY? WHAT ON EARTH FOR?

So, it's goodbye to him...

                                                               ...And it's hello to him

INDEPENDENCE DEBATE AT ABERTAY UNIVERSITY

You have probably already see this video over at Wings, aptly entitled "How it's done". But incase you haven't I include it here.

Stewart Hosie is our local MP, the London Finance Shadow for the SNP, and a formidable debater and speaker, and frankly I'm a bit proud of this.

He started this debate in a position of weakness: 59% against and 21% for independence, and by strength of argument turned it to a 51% yes vote, 38% no.

I'd be interested in your opinions of the debate, and the points raised by students. These are points that could be raised by anyone we're talking to, on the bus, in the gym, at Morrisons...

Pretty as a picture
That's logical
No to what...grammar lessons?

It probably is... for the top brass.

Believe it... and not the dim and distant future either. Note the daft old bat in the next picture.
She'll tell you it's about terrorists, but it's not. It's about taking your rights away.
What a despicable statistic.

I'M HEADING DOWNTOWN TO SEE PETULA CLARK, BUT WITH THE TORIES THE COUNTRY IS JUST HEADING DOWN

No blogging for me today, as I am shortly off to Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall to see the awesome Petula Clark in concert.
Petula signing cd's after last night's concert
However, I was amused by this article from Facebook, and I thought you might enjoy the read.

I highlighter a couple of things towards the bottom, which, in all the fun, are the stinking reality of what our lives are like in the UK.
Maria Miller, government minister addressing the Tory faithful
So what did we learn from the Tory party conference this week that finally came to an end with a gushing speech from David Cameron that made you feel that a Roman orgy was going to break out any minute.

First of all we learned that George Osborne has changed his hairdresser when he rocked up to the conference with what looked like a decomposing raccoon perched on top of his brainless head.

Yes this was the news that George was going for Russell Crowes tough look in gladiator but managed to pull off a kind of ''carry on gladiator'' look, but he was not the only bizarre thing prancing around in Manchester !! Theresa May turned up as the last tribute act to the Bay City Rollers complete with tartan suit and shiny shoes with sparkly stones in the heels, She did get a large round of applause as she took to the stage though which turned to a sigh of disappointment when the audience realised it was not Billy Connolly but that mad old bird from the home office.

Iain Duncan Smith turned up looking like a national front skin head snarling at everyone while the conference security guards made sure there was no disabled people lurking around for fear that ''Gripper Smith'' would tip them from their wheel chairs and give them bloody scroungers a damned good kicking.

Defence secretary Philip Hammond was busy telling everybody how brilliant he was and how he had single handedly destroyed the British army with nothing more than his pen when two old soldiers stood up and made their last stand, surrounded by hostile natives and before they were overcome by sheer weight of numbers they were able to tell Hammond, who was already waving a white handkerchief while cowering behind the plinth and sobbing for them not to hurt him, just what a proper tool he was and how he had wiped out regiments that had bled young men's lives for hundreds of years to protect the people of the British Empire. It may not have been Zulu Dawn but at least these two old warriors made their last stand against the enemy within.

So what about what they all had to say. Well they said very little. Yet again was no mention of these tough new tax avoidance laws to claw back the 70 odd billion that their donors and friends owe the tax payer. There was defiance that there would be no mansion tax and there would be more tax cuts for the big corporations of who's shareholders sit on their front benches and drink for free in the house of lords.

According to the over whelming theme to this conference, the only thing that matters is to take and punish the people who already have nothing, the key word was ''Hard working people'' which they creepily said as much as possible and in every TV interview as if to hypnotically burn it in to our subconscious that we would start to go about our day chanting ''we must work hard, we must work hard, we must kill those that don't, we must kill those that don't''

It was pretty pathetic and insulting to most people’s intelligence and we probably paid somebody a few million quid to come up with the idea of repeating this silly verse to us out of our TVs and radio and also reading it in the papers, in fact I heard it said so many times it was stupid but a tiny bit sinister and make no mistake it is intended to further isolate and stigmatise the unemployed and the disabled and silence the injustice of the punishments being continually heaped upon them under the flag that everyone is playing the system.

It is a disgrace and it is divisive and shameful and will damage the villages, towns and cities and their community spirit, which has seen this country prevail over hundreds of years and through its darkest hours and when everything seemed to be lost.

Make no mistake the Tories are now asking the working class to side with them, against the lower classes and all the while they are enjoying tax cuts and corporation tax cuts, huge privatising contracts and tax havens, in fact the very wealthy have seen their fortunes grow sharply under this governments protection and it is no coincidence that tax returns have fallen under the Tories and so public services are cut to make up the difference.

I am astounded that so many people have been so easily fooled and diverted their gaze from what this government is up to and are now just staring at the scapegoats as the Tories make hay in the sun.

A bedroom tax for the poor but no mansion tax for the wealthiest

A rise in VAT for us and a tax cut just for the wealthiest

A war on the welfare state and a blind eye for tax avoidance

A failing NHS for us and a money cow for the wealthy in its privatisation

A freeze or drop in wages for us and huge bonus payments for the banking wealthy

A freeze in tax credits for the WORKING poor and expenses and benefits now at an all time high for the political wealthy

So I ask you once more? Where should your gaze really be fixed because all the time your back is turned the sly old Tory fox is in the hen house.

Finally what about David Cameron's speech! Well it reminded me of that boy at school who would always enjoy reporting you to the teacher and smile as you were punished.

In Cameron's case he would be running to the teacher whining that Labour had done this or its all Labours fault, and I was only cleaning up Labours mess and Labour got me into trouble.....

You get the just, even after over three years, he still wants to blame Labour for the weak economy and the lack of housing and the failing NHS and the disaster that is universal credit.

This was not a conference it was a finger pointing exercise, no real fresh ideas, just fresh accusations and fresh punishments and more hints that we will be on the sharp end of more cuts and to get your vote in a years’ time, a few crumbs from the high table like 3 pound a week to get married or £2.70 per week extra for the lowest paid.

If this is all it takes to make you feel that you are a Tory at the next election then it may be that all hope is lost and the good honest caring folk of these green and pleasant lands will not prevail against a second term, under the likes of David Cameron, George Osborne and Iain Duncan Smith.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

From Speech

Cameron: "We've already got technical colleges run by great companies like JCB... ...I say: let’s have one of those colleges in every single major town."

Since David Cameron became leader of the Conservative party it has received a total of £1,973,937.89 in donations from JCB's Chairman Sir Anthony Bamford, as well as from JC Bamford Excavators Ltd and JCB Research.

(Not the first time this man has been mentioned in a Cameron speech. I' wonder at his judgment.)

**********

From STN News

Harry Smith: What about the argument that you are the head of the government that is putting a lot of resources, a lot of money, a lot of civil servants’ time into producing arguments in support of the union, and therefore you should explain why to those who will vote at the referendum.

David Cameron: I think the right place to do that is in the Westminster Parliament where I am open to question by Scottish MPs, those who want Scotland to leave the United Kingdom, those who want Scotland to stay, every Wednesday, 12 o’clock, do tune in, and I am open to question by them all the time. The real question is for the Scottish people, do they want to stay or do they want to go? That is where the debate should take place, between the people with a vote.

(In short you are scared of a face to face with a better man with a bigger intellect and superior vision.)
**********

From Yes Scotland

Westminster almost unique in its failure to ensure revenues from finite oil and gas reserves are invested so future generations can benefit too

An independent Scotland could have built a fund worth £100 billion by now, but with North Sea remaining productive for decades to come, a great opportunity remains.

(Imagine what we could have done with £100 billion)

**********

And how about this little gem from Cameron?

Cameron: "HS2 is about bringing North and South together in our national endeavour. Because think of what more we could do with the pistons firing in all parts of our country. With its wind and wave power, let’s make the Humber the centre of clean energy.

"With its resources under the ground, let’s make Blackpool the centre of Europe for the shale gas industry. With its brains and research centres, let’s make Manchester the world leader in advanced materials. We're building an economy for the North and South, embracing new technologies, producing things and selling them to the world."

(So, London and Leeds are the south and north of the country. And... producing things and selling them to the world? What planet is this idiot on?)
