CHILDHOOD IN SYRIA AMONGST THE SMART BOMBS

A school is bombed.

  1. Bombing people works so well, blitz spirit, those heroic Londoners and all that. How soon they forget, those politicians like Cameron and so many studied History. You have to say that those who fought in wars were never so eager but the likes of Blair and now Cameron are great armchair warriors, not only that their kids will be as far from the fighting as possible.
    Disgusting!

    1. Yes. If they or their kids were going to be in direct line, then I'm sure they would give a great deal more consideration to the vital necessity of them being at war more than they are not at war.

  2. No such thing as a "smart bomb". You may be able to guide it near the the target, but once it goes off; how the hell do you control the blast radius.
The only way to limit the concussive force is to limit the payload.
Are they seriously trying to tell us that, they have bullet sized directional guided missiles being dropped by the RAF? I don't think so.

  3. but the minister for war ( Michael Fallon ) told us that these "smart" bombs were so good that they could target individuals in a car and leave the rest unscathed !!!!! Think he has been watching too much James Bond, eh Q?

  4. No. I don't think that smart bombs are that smart. For a start they depend upon the information they are given. With a clown like Fallon in charge who knows what that might be.

As you say Jim, how can you tell what else will be hit by the explosion. And if you get the co-ordinates wrong, bang goes a hospital, a wedding party, or in this case a school which was full of kids and their teachers.

I wish Mr Fallon would go watch James Bond, Colin, and leave government to people a little more competent and sober.

one can only speculate given his comment....pictures
like this sexually arouse him and like minded folk

    Mojo
The word originally means a charm or a spell. But now its more commonly said meaning sex appeal or talent.
"I can get any girl if I just use a bit of the old mojo"

    1. I know Niko. When I heard it my first inclination was to vomit. My second was to think that probably he doesn't quite understand. After all his mate next door though that LOL meant Lots of Love.

They are only tenuously connected to the realities of life.

Whatever the man thought, it is repulsive to me that whether it is sexual... or just excitement, magic, charm, spell or whatever, that the country would get it back because it was killing kiddies in a school.

Still what do you expect from the sort of people who shoot animals for sport?

  6. I found it strange that HM government would allow an ad on TV for "Save the Children in Syria" appeal to be broadcast a short time after deciding to bomb that country.
    Haven't seen it recently.
Maybe strings have been pulled (amongst other things).

  7. Cameron's response to the problems of the Middle East reminds me of an incompetent doctor who sees a patient who presents with symptoms of Ebola and subsequently prescribes two aspirin a day and "come back and see me in a month if the symptoms persist".
As we have come to expect from Westminster governments, complete incompetence at best and perhaps something much more sinister at work.

    1. Yep agreed. Incompetent is a watchword fro this government.

  8. Governments plot, politicians vote for, media trumpets... people suffer in our name.

Perhaps as an Independent state, Scotland will be able to hold some of those responsible... in our name.

    1. I'm sure we would make mistakes... WILL make mistakes.

But I believe a government close to people is less likely to make mistakes on a regular basis, than one so far away, not just geographically, but in every way, from the people.

  9. Bit late to this thread, but it reminds me of the Vietnam War, and a particular picture. Admittedly worse, but on that scale.

I am beginning to doubt the point of so-called adults when they kill amd maim children in the name of any ideology.

    1. Making war on kids is despicable.

It's also inevitable, unless you get David Cameron to take on the head of ISIS, in a one to one fist fight. I'd pay money to see that!
