RANDOM FOTOS ON FRIDAY

Brave decent man.

Let's be honest, neither of you gives a damn...
Oh my.... would you look at the state of that nonsense? I bet Chic was tempted with that sword; I know I would have been. This is how the other half lives, while the rest of us are worrying about the electricity bill.
No wonder the Brits wanted them on the Human Rights Council. When they bring in their English Bill of Rights for those with titles, the Saudis will rubber stamp it.
Eh Cameron?

  1. Chris Herbert, I salute you sir.

Danny "Beaker" Alexander, getting his reward for being a useless git. He hasn't even laced his shoes properly.

    2. In my view it should be Chris Herbert getting the knighthood and *cough* Sir Dunderheid o Bawbags who gets all the abuse!

      Just saying like!

    3. Little people don;t get knighthoods. You get them for being loyal to teh British state in a suffocatingly lick-spittle kind of way, not for being brave or wise or decent.

I mean, seriously what did Alexander do to deserve in K?

      Any ideas?

It seems to me that he betrayed his Liberal voting constituents to follow a hard right wing Tory agenda that involved the most punitive measures.

  2. What really disgusts me is not these creatures getting rewards from the Crown for betraying their country, but the fact the Climate Change Conference taking place right now is happening against the backdrop of the frankly incredible attitude of David Cameron in his perverse removal of the Carbon Capture Subsidy from both Kincardine and Peterhead, never mind the removal of the wind turbine subsidy, then bizarrely paying European power suppliers for low carbon power to meet the EU carbon emission targets, so basically anything that benefits the Scots is off the table.

Has even crossed his tiny mind JUST HOW MUCH kudos going to that conference he would have gained and being able to tell the world that “we have conquered the carbon capture problem and we’re open for business”?

Nope, he’d see it as a Scottish success and we cannie hae that noo can we?

better together…but only on our terms!

    1. I thought about that post I made and pondered, can it be said there is a certain animosity towards the population of Scotland by the Westminster elite?
and in spite of the obvious answer of yes, of course, they hate us,

I actually don’t think they do,
that would require effort to actively hate and they don’t think about Scotland enough to actually hate us, no it’s much worse than hatred they feel,
the emotion shown by Westminster is indifference and the only consideration they give us are to consider just how long it will take to breed us out of existence,

We are as irrelevant to Westminster as the Rohingya are to Myanmar for all the shit they give!
The elevation of creatures like Mone, Alexander et al is a measure of an elite toying with the humans like the greek gods played with their creations, enjoying nothing more than mild pleasure, merely a distraction from the real job of making money.

    2. Pity is that Chris Herbert has suffered his injury, left to the likes of us he would still be whole.

Danny Alexander, enough said. Only that there is a very old word which should be used for his likes and the rest of them. It begins with T and Stuart on Wings doesn't like it used.

Saudi Arabia in charge of Human Rights, well that is a sooking up gesture, they still must have money to waste on armaments.

Unexplained deaths, well do they want to explain some of them or would they rather sweep them under the proverbial rug. We have always said the Tories do not do irony.

    3. I think that now we are "back in our box" they think there is no point in wasting their money on us. Never mind that it is not their money.

The other thing I reckon is that the more they try to destabilise the Scottish economy by shutting our ship yards, closing tax offices, removing grants etc, the less likely Scotland will appear to be a going concern on its own.

As for carbon capture, what was it that Cameron said about " all this green ****"?

Leading the world in soppy green nonsense is not for the right. Lead, instead, by bombing climate change into submission.

      It will end in tears.

    1. I have never had problem that there were people who revered the British state and its royalty.

But people who were part of the lie that was Better Together are different. Not the ordinary ones who just believed what the top folk told them, but the people who lied knowing that they were lying in order to make THEIR chances better.

Danny Alexander was, he told us at the time, the most senior Scot involved in the debate...what with him being George Osborne's boot boy.

He sold out Liberal Democratism, and pursued Tory policies, for which he got his just deserts at the ballot box. But the British Empire looks after its own, and despite being a small player for a very short time, he was offered a seat in the House of Lords. He turned it down because he wants a return to politics. So they made him a knight instead. It so devalues the already devalued title.

If he can have a K why shouldn't the bloke who stacks the freezers at Tesco. He's been at least as much service to the country as this twerp.

    1. I always had the impression that despite being (by his own words) such "a senior Scot", (he thought HE should debate with Alex Salmond instead of the Prime Minister) he appeared to know very little about anything.

Big headed, yes, but largely empty space.

Maybe he thinks Big Ears is Brenda.

  5. Just one wee comment about Charlie Farlie.

How the hell did he manage to do the tap the shoulders thingy without letting the sword thingy slip?

    2. And no, Danny, don;t interpret that as a death threat... It was a joke based on the royal prerogative to chop heads off people that annoyed them.

You have to admit you are annoying.

  6. It seems that HER Majesty is handing off the Knighting duties to Charlie these days. I've seen several pictures of him wielding the sword lately. Perhaps something of a disappointment to the new Knights, but on the other hand, if the ceremonial sword is at all sharp, perhaps an 89 year old lady is not the best choice to be whipping it around your head. I wonder if the reason for the change was an unacceptably large number of casualties in recent years?

    1. To be fair Danny, the old girl has handed out that kind of job in the past to Charlie and Anne... As you say probably a bit of a disappointment when one was expecting teh organ grinder, to get the monkey.

But I'm not sure she could lift a sword these days, maybe she just does the OBEs and MBEs.

What a load of old cobblers it is.

In France they have medals too, but they are handed out by ministers. Pétula is a Commanduer de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and she got it from teh Culture Minister. Much more sensible.

    2. Nice to see Petula getting her honor. There aren't that many "honors" for Americans (except for military decorations), but what there are, are generally conferred at the White House by the President (such as the Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award.) Occasionally an American gets an honorary knighthood from the British (which is very cool of course), but does not involve the sword ceremony or the use of "Sir" or "Dame" as a title. (Americans can use the post nominal letters of an honorary Knighthood I think.)

There was a TV documentary showing a couple of funny moments during the Queen's state visit to the USA in 1991. The first involved a discussion between the Queen and her secretary about an honorary knighthood for an American General. She made an absent minded motion with her letter opener, and was reminded that the honorary knighthood would involve "none of that."

Then during the White House welcome in which she referred to her visit in 1976 to commemorate the American revolution (with a "gallant disregard for history" she said), it was clear that the podium was built for the very tall Bush (the elder), and not for her. After a 24 hour news cycle dominated by stories about the "talking hat," the matter was discussed (and a joke prepared)as she was briefed before her address to Congress. She was cautioned that the Congress would be nothing like her speech in the House of Lords, and might involve touching and handshakes....not to mention spontaneous interruptions.

      About the first three minutes:

    3. Thanks Danny. She should probably go and live in the USA. She seemed to smile a lot when she was there. Unlike here where she seems to have a permanent "face like a torn scone" (as my granny would say).

  7. PS: Peter Ustinov told the story that as his Knighthood ceremony approached, he got a phone call from "The Palace" inquiring if he was physically able to kneel. He replied "Oh YES, but am I required to get back up?" I wonder if the comment elicited even a chuckle from "The Palace." Knights these days no longer being the strapping young warriors they were back in the Middle Ages, special arrangements are now apparently made for the ones who are no longer very agile.

    1. Ah the brilliant Peter Ustinov. A genius in my opinion. Impossible not to laugh at most of what he says. I think he cared not a fig what the po faced palace people would think. He just couldn't help being funny.

    2. Medieval knights were not generally the nicest of people. May ruled harshly. But then, they did lead the troops into battle.

Danny Alexander still looks like a junior management consultant.
