  1. Jaw-droppingly superb speech. What an outstanding man, whose simple, basic proposals should strike a chord with all Scots. No flummery, no double-speak, no political obfuscation; he just says it how it is, and what he believes in.
    Deep respect.

    1. Heartily agree, an excellent speech which I tried to listen to earlier, dug complained. Alan Bissett is a fearsome warrior and why are not the rest of Scottish Labour (ex) not right behind him and not may I say with a sharpened knife as is their want.

    2. I'll sign...

I think a lot of Slab is right behind him, Helena.

  3. Smashing stuff - he's a legend. Any chance he could stand for election in 2015? Thanks for posting. I was watching the Hydro live stream. Spotted a woman I campaigned with in the audience though she was not a recent SNP member so not sure the event was targeted for her. Maybe she brought a recent member or non-member along though.

So Broon going. Not sticking around to follow through with his vow then. Not just a liar but also a coward.

    1. Could be PP that she was there with a member, people were urged to bring likely new members along.

    2. Hi Helena

I've probably phrased that badly. The woman I know is a long standing SNP member, but you're right, she probably brought a newbie along with her.

I remember saying before the 18th that if it was a yes vote I'd join the Greens but if a no vote I'd join the SNP. Not that I've done either yet! Wouldn't it be great to be SNP member 100,000 though!

    3. I wish he would, either stand for Westminster or Holyrood. I would vote for him tomorrow, whatever party he stood for. We need people like this, to drive our vision forward, and keep the dream alive.

    4. Panda Paws I can see that number being arrived at long before the May deadline, and as I am a member I cannot be, so why not you? Lots of talented people many very angry but so willing to be useful.

    5. I think probably he's rather too good a writer and actor to want to be a politician, but I agree. He's a clever man with great ability to put things over... and a very amusing turn of phrase.

Yes, I ,must admit when I heard the 100,000 goal, I though ... too ambitious.

Ever the glass half empty sort, I really doubted we could make that.

But two weeks later its up from 83,000 to 92,000, and I'm thinking that it won't be in the least impossible to make the 100,000.

I wonder what the canvassing will look like this time round....
