THANK HEAVENS FOR A PROPER LABOUR MP... AND SAVE US FROM THIS POTENTIAL ONE

It's noted that Iain Duncan Smith seems to be amused and smirks though the speech like the pompous, unthinking, unfeeling monster he is.
Also noted that most of Ms Jackson's colleagues seem to spend their time on their phones.

In a place where a member can be told to leave the chamber for not wearing a tie, would not it be an idea for the deputy speaker to ask members there to pay attention to the debate and leave their emails and Twitter accounts, or whatever else they are doing, to a time more suitable.

As Glenda was pointing out, we are talking about real people's lives here.
**********
While we are on the subject of Twitter, after a Labour candidate in Angus tweeted this picture about some kids singing songs at the BBC protest at the weekend...

...the SNP office there was vandalised like this...
I wonder if there could possibly be a connection.

Perhaps Ms Wiles would care to comment?

The matter is in the hands of Police Scotland. It is yet to be seen whether there will be screams of outrage from Labour, as there were when someone stuck a small YES sticker on a Labour MPs office window.
It seems too that she thinks that independence supporter are benefit scroungers, which is a bit of a generalisation in honesty Ms Wiles, don't you think.

It's also pretty insulting to the many pro-independence people who are working, some I know in two different jobs to make ends meet, and looking after families or elderly relatives. (Click to enlarge this picture and read the text).

My advice to her would be to go easy on Tweeting of Facebooking. It's not your own supporters you have to impress; rather it's those who are against you whose minds you have to try to change, and you won't do it by calling them lazy scroungers or Nazis.

Methinks on the basis of these two issues, which I came upon within minutes of one another, she's not much of an asset to the Labour Party.

Update: I've just read Stuart's piece on this. Almost undoubtedly you will have as well, but just incase, here it is.

Update July 1: Wiles has apologised for the Nazi tweet. When Tom Harris associated Alex Salmond with Hitler he lost his job with Labour. Will Wiles now be told to stand down?
**********
I've just see this, and thought I should add it.

Miliband has just been attacking the SNP for wanting to reduce Corporation Tax. Anas has said that Labour never has reduced corporation tax (even though they did, twice). But having got back home to England, and not realising that we in Scotland can read and write and actually have internet, Ed's  Labour party has announced that it's new policy will be.... yep... you guessed it... to reduce Corporation Tax.

I know it's an overworked cliché but sometimes you just have to say: "You really couldn't make this Balls up".

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED: BRITAIN CAN'T AFFORD A WELFARE STATE

At least, not for the likes of you

According to a report in the Independent (thanks to James Morton for the headsup), new drugs will only be made available on the NHS  in England, if they help people deemed to be a benefit to society under proposals that prompted fears elderly people could be denied treatment.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice: the English organisation charged with deciding which drugs are affordable) is due to change how it decides which drugs can be provided by the health service.

The proposals would mean Nice would have to consider “wider societal benefits” of the treatments as well as the cost and benefits to patients.

Dr Paul Catchpole, of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, told The Daily Telegraph: “It is concerning because, under the new appraisal system, cancer medicine might do less well because older people aren't as beneficial to society.

"You might have a cancer treatment for a severe disease but because the majority of the cancer patients are elderly they aren't generating wider societal benefits, they are more likely to be generating costs.

“But if you have got a medicine that gets someone back to work then you could argue, under this system, that that's better for society.”
David Taylor, professor of pharmaceutical and public health policy at University College London, said the plan was “a real threat to the public well-being and a real threat to the well-being of older people”.

“To me the whole methodology seems deeply suspect,” he said.

Sources close to English Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, told The Telegraph that plan was at an early stage and would not result in discrimination against elderly people (so you can guarantee that it will).

The draft policy is due to be put out for public consultation in the next few weeks.

First they denigrate the sick and the unemployed with the eager help of their friends at the Daily Mail, Express, Star and Sun, then they start killing them off by denying them benefits. Now it’s the turn of the old. If you aren’t of benefit to Cameron’s society, you should die and not cost anything to decent hardworking families up and down the country.

Who’s next on their hit list?

People who don't vote Tory?
I warn you. If we vote NO there's no way Scotland will avoid this. So vote no, and commit suicide at 45, because getting old is not going to be fun.

BTW, I seem to remember that Johann Lamont made a big fuss about how you could get one cancer drug in England that was unavailable in Scotland. (She failed to mention that there were examples of the exact opposite).

I wonder how she feels about this. After all, she's not getting any younger.
**********
I too was disgusted to see this on a Facebook page. From what I can see the DWP has decided that this guy's girlfriend contributed to her own cancer, and is therefore not entitled to any enhanced payment.

So, does this mean that anyone who has smoked, or drunk, or eaten more than they have exercised, and whose medical condition could at least in part, be blamed upon these activities... is no longer entitled to enhanced payments.

Will this include people who have been injured whilst driving (after all they could have taken the bus); have had sports injuries (they could have stayed on the settee); war injuries (they weren't called up to the forces, they chose to join)?

This is our so-called united kingdom.
But you shouldn't be surprised; remember a few weeks ago osborne told you all quite clearly that we could no longer afford a welfare state. You seriously cannot say that you were not warned.

SCROUNGER MAINE

Click on picture for larger (readable) image. This is almost unbelievable, until you remember it's Westminster and she's a Tory MP.

SNAPS FOR SATURDAY

Who? Lamont, you say? Hmmmm, nope. No one of that name here, is there Donald?
If your kids ever ask you how to get on in life... here's your answer. Give money to the Tories (or the Liberals, or Labour).
Adios Nick. Don't rush back, please!
See...loads of good reasons to vote Conservative (or  Liberal, or Labour).
And if you don't have it, then Mr Duncan Smith will soon get you another job as a slave in Tesco.
There's many a true word spoken in jest. Don't think just because the figures showed a pathetic growth that that means that the misery is over. With this lot (or Labour) the misery will never be over.
Remember your mum and dad telling you to save for a rainy day? They hadn't bargained on the ineptitude of the Conservatives (or Liberals or Labour). You might as well spend it all. Have a round the world cruise, because if you save it, it will soon be worth half of what it used to be worth.
You should've come over here Morgan. The Conservatives have got loads of tricks like this up their sleeves (as, of course have the Liberals and Labour
They are all in such a poor state that they might as well amalgamate and save on administration costs, after all there's no difference in their policies to speak of.
One of the hundreds of reasons for voting Tory (or Liberal or Labour) is that you get to step over poor people in shop doorways on your way to the opera. Often they will lie down in puddles for you so you don't get your opera clothes wet. Who said chivalry was dead?
Well the first four are difficult but not impossible to explain; the last one beats the hell out of me though.
Wonder what their priorities are? Well, ask yourself, did benefit claimants ever give half a million to the Tory party (or the Liberals, or Labour)? QED.
Seems to be the answer to the above problems... YES anyone?

As always a click on a pic will enlarge it, so you can actually read what it says.
