SOPPY SUNDAY

While rescuing injured birds, the swan wrapped his neck around the rescuer's neck.

Usually swans are very territorial and don't like human company, but Richard Wiese experienced a moving and wonderful moment during a rescue operation executed with several of his friends from a foundation aiding and rescuing injured birds in England. This is how he describes this moment:

"I lifted him, gently pressed on his chest so that her felt confident and safe. After a few moments the swan stopped resisting and literally wrapped himself around my neck. I could feel his heart beating next to mine. I wanted to shut my eyes to enjoy the moment. It's a really wonderful feeling when you sense a true connection and natural trust. When an animal realises you mean him no harm."

  2. Antarctica, it's like a viaduct for the polar express.
I love the ant, with the ball of water; thee first book I can remember reading was a book about ants, fascinating creatures.
    Otters, are just beautiful.

    1. Ha ha... You can't keep a good proof reading down, even noticing the pictures. If I forget to delete the picture from the store, that can happen, because I see so many looking for good new ones...

      Sorry.

Anyway, as you say at least we redeemed ourselves with two orangs this week. :)

  5. 23 has an uncanny resemblance to Ed Milliband, although the wee orang-utan has more political sense.

On waterfalls, if you ever get the chance, visit Canonteign Falls in Devon. There is an entrance fee but it is a stunning place. Also rather steep......

    2. I thought we had to lay of the anthropomorphism. The cute Orang disnae look like the war criminal, any more than picture 1 bears a striking resemblance to any opposition spokesperson at Holyrood. So can we all cut it out?

The kitten and the owlet are another couple you have to sigh over. I bet Panda Paws saw the Panda in the snow the other day it was having so much fun.
