A COUPLE OF THOUGHTS FROM YESTERDAY'S NEWS

Presiding over slowest recovery since 1830, whilst doubling UK debt to £1.5 trillion!

And all the bad stuff is the fault of the Chinese, the Europeans, the Americans and everyone else in the universe, except George who is, of course, perfect.

Things go better with Coke, eh George!

Any junior nonentity want to come along a resign on a BBC TV programme? Could you do it just in time for Prime Minister's Questions? Anything to embarrass that socialist blokey or the Jock nationals.
Deleted BBC Blog? How is this for a state broadcaster?

The BBC are a sick joke. I would sell this crap off in a minute I could, they just don't do news they manipulate and create their version. North Korea probably has a more balanced news than what we have to suffer every day, although I rarely watch BBC news and tend to watch ITV or Channel 4, neither of which are that much better to be fair. We are so ill served on everything in this country now, still better together though. I also cringed when I was in the living room and my son had the news on and it started with the main story being William Windsors son going to nursery, I just thought to myself that we are so broken in this country it is frightening.

    1. Yes, when you think of all that is going on in the world and kids starving to death in war zones that we are involved in, the BBC is getting all soppy about one super privileged child that will never have to steal food out of waste paper bins.

      Child goes to nursery. Wow.

Still tell the people that this is the kind of pap they should be worried about and you'll ignore the fact that the BBC manipulated Prime Minister's Questions yesterday.

  2. That's looks a hell of lot like making the news instead of just reporting it.
Deleting blogs, BBC would't hide info from the public, surely not.

    1. It's exactly what it is. It was timed to be just before PMQs so that Cameron could make fun of the leader of the opposition when he was asking serious questions about ordinary people... Questions that Eton Boy didn't want to answer.

You' have thought that the fool would stay clear of questions of splits in the party, particularly in a week when it became clear that HM Government hasn't got a policy on Europe.

  4. As far as UK politics are concerned, within which the Tories and Labour take turns at being the government and the opposition, it is essential for whatever democracy remains (after taking into account the monarchy, the House of Lords, the imperfect electoral system for Westminster, and above all the power of the Establishment), that these two parties should allow voters in England a real choice rather than one between the real Tories and the Blairites* who are Tories in all but name. Corbyn may be the last chance for Labour to return to being a party which will provide genuine opposition to the Tories; by trying to undermine him, the BBC are acting as enemies of democracy.

    * I would not call the Blairites 'red Tories'; they are very, very pale pink at best.

    1. I kinda think of them as Blue Labour.

I agree with you. If Labour makes a mess of having a Labour leader for the first time in 20+ years, they will surely become Shadow Tories, and they will only be elected to lead when the Tories are exhausted and most of them have resigned over scandals, or when they choose dip sticks like IDS, Hague or Something of the Night to lead them.

  6. Ah George, this is the result of having a person with a degree in history in charge of handling money. We had someone else like that, now I seem to remember he is considered to have been a disaster as PM, last name same as mine, I am not related thank goodness and neither is the man I am married to.
Sad to say the news from Syria being handled by the BBC is also suspect. Strangely I do listen to R4 whilst making breakfast in the morning and they were interviewing a man from one of the stricken cities. Whilst if this is true, they were only interviewing the city being besieged by the Syrian Army, there are places in Syria which are suffering as badly but it is the so called Rebel who are doing it. What is our answer, we will probably end up bombing them.
As for the BBC. much prefer any of the foreign news programmes I can watch on digital, France 24, Euro News in fact anyone who is not related in any way to the media here.

    1. I think it is your safest bet.

I no longer believe the BBC about anything.

First it was Scotland lie lie lie; then it was Corbyn, lie lie lie.

      Now I reckon it's everything.

    2. I listened to that story as well Helena. To be fair, I prefer listening to Radio 4. I wonder of the BBC are wise enough to let the station run without too much interference. Without sounding like an arrogant git, it may be that many listeners can spot a bollocks story easier than the ones watching BBC News 24.

Things could be worse however. We could have Fox News.

    4. Indeed Zog, I do think that Radio 4 seems to have a bit more freedom but then this is Radio England, they are a bit on the stupid side they think that the Scots are all listening to Radio Propaganda Scotland. I gave that up so many years ago now that I cannot actually remember. I do think it could be worse but then Fox is probably well represented by Sky News, now if ever there was a dumbed down news programme that is it. If you want to see how right wing it is all you need to do is listen to their revue of the papers in the morning, boy is that trash.

    5. I've never understood it when they review the papers. I don't buy newspapers, and that includes the National which I find biased the other way. I prefer to do the rounds of various news outlets and blogs and figure out what the truth really is. Private Eye is an exception and a good source for information, albeit they do make the odd mistake.

I refuse to listen to BBC Scotland. It's total bollocks and boring. I don't think Radio 4 is aimed purely at an English audience any more. They do have articles for all parts of the UK on a regular basis. And most of the comedy shows are good.

But I must be getting older. I listen to the Archers! I have to suffer my wife's love of tv soaps and it makes a refreshing change.

      Time for medication.......

    1. Gary... we are really sorry.

Maybe we should have a cover page, warning of horrors, like Gids on the snort... or Jackie Baillie on the pies.. or just IDS breathing.

Please accept our apologies and, we'll try to remember in the future.

      It's always someone else's fault.

Damned Chinese only growing their economy at 6%. How dare they! Don't they know it cocks up all Gid's figures that his kids did for him?

And (shhhhh) damn those Saudis keeping the oil price low. And (even more shhhhhhh) those Americans (Double shushhhh) for putting up interest rates.

And Damn all Europeans for not being Englishmen and playing cricket.
