When we first moved here, the sun would've burned a hole through you. It's rained ever since. There is a local saying, if you can't see Loudoun hill it's raining, if you can see it; it's about to rain.
Managed to catch the eclipse through the gaps in the clouds, the clouds actually helped for once. I like the one here better though. A nice sunny one eclipsing that nasty horrible red English Rose. I love English Roses and have grown a good few including old fashioned ones, that one always gave me the pip.
I also like Clematis and Honeysuckle and climbing Hydrangea, remind me Tris never to leave roses in a garden you are to get. My Dad did not like anything he felt he did not get his money's worth out of so any plant had to flower almost continually or he dug it up. He sometimes left the weeds.
Yeah, got a few Clematis adn two or three honeysuckles too... I'm a bit of an organic kind of gardener, I had a pile of Herb Robert last year, totally wild but incredibly pretty, so I left them in. I tend not to like to kill anything that's living so sometimes weeds are tolerated.
I'll put up some pictures of the garden in the summer... It looks a bit bare at the moment.
Brilliant, and there's no clouds to spoil the view.
ReplyDeleteLOL True...Just like Dundee this morning!
DeleteUnfortunately, Darvel weather was the usual, dreech.
DeleteAhhh the West of Scotland. Are there any days of the year when it doesn't rain...? :)

ReplyDeleteIt was distinct here, although I didn't look anywhere near it. It was just that a sunny day became a bit dark. Interesting to see.
DeleteI actually hate roses... any kind. They are straggly, greenfly encouraging, black spot nightmares!!
Now Clematis, that's a real plant. ☺
