ANOTHER DAY... ANOTHER DOOZIE

I'd thought I had heard of David Hamilton before today. He was a little blond bloke that used to be a disc jockey along with Tony Blackburn, David Jacobs, Pete Murry and Jimmy Savile in the early days of pop radio in the 60s.

But I had no idea that he had become an MP, gone grey and become rotund.
For everyday
I know nothing else about him except that he is retiring and that he went down a storm with the male, unreconstructed members of the audience at the Labour party conference.

Johann Lamont, however, had a face like a very badly torn scone. For a party trying to re-attract the female vote, he maybe wasn't a particularly good choice of speaker.
For Best!
He probably won't go down to well in Islington. Still I'm sure the BBC will make sure that his contribution is kept as quiet as his profile has been this last 14 years.

I suspect half the crowd agree with his views on women and the other half did not understand the question. These Labour dinosaurs need to gone they are the reason Scotland is such a shit hole in many places.

    1. I didn't see the whole thing Bruce, but the tiny clip I saw on Vine showed a fair size of the audience was amused, and others were not. I wonder how, for example Kezia felt, her being a good ten years younger than Nicola.

I understand the dinosaur in question is standing down at the election, so I suspect that this is the first and the last we shall hear of him.

  2. I have just been mulling over the misogynist tendency that Scotchland Labour has become.

!. Murphy trying to get back to the days of the drunken backhander punch the lights out of the wife after Saturday football match.

    2. International Woman’s day and some forgotten marker on Darwin’s evolutionary map emerges from under his rock and sticks two, or actually three, fingers up at half the voting public and proceeds to confirm the previous by attacking a woman opposition politician because of her size and hair style. No mention of political substance here, just misogyny. This is a UK political party’s spring congregation and he is on live TV.

3, Not content with what the nonentity has said, other male luminaries of the said political elite are shouting at everyone, everywhere how “brilliant” this clown is.

Have they all supped at a poisoned well and are all infected by some parasite which changes their personalities to that belonging in a secure unit?

Or are have they just lost the plot, realise the game is up and are taking the piss out of the people who are so stupid as to not understand the anguish and hurt they are feeling over their impending demise and rejection by the people who are so stupid not to want to vote for them.

Personally, I don’t give a monkey’s and want them gone. and never to return, as soon as possible. Either that or they will have to be prosecuted and imprisoned for something; impersonating human beings or vandalism of a nation’s aspirations and hopes.

Maybe it is time to dig out that tumbril and drum?

note I stuck this up on Wings but think my feelings on this matter need (my need) to be shared with some people who don't read Wings.

    1. Ha ha... Is there anyone who doesn't read Wings?

The funny thing is that New Labour is the home of political correctness gone mad.

So I'm amazed that Harriet Harman hasn't been up in her pink bus and run the old fool over.

You paint the picture accurately though Panda. I wonder if it ever occurred to him that he was going to cause offence to many on his own side.

There's nothing wrong with causing offence of course. I'm sure that from time to time Munguin's Republic does it too. It's just that Munguin's Republic is a little blog of no great import, just saying what Munguin (or occasionally Tris) thinks.

As you point out, this was a paid politician, speaking at his party's conference, on national television, on World Women's Day.

Maybe they thought that he looked and sounded like Old Labour.

In a way of course he did. Just the part of Old Labour that it was probably best to bury.

  3. Just heard a Chinese aphormism, translated obviously as I have forgotten my mother tongue some years ago,

Women hold up half the sky

Born of a woman, one sibling who was a woman, the odd wife or two and two daughters. What chance did I have?

    1. Like most Chinese sayings... it makes perfect sense.

I think they always did. It was just that in the past it was a different part of the sky. Now we are all standing shoulder to shoulder and we all hold up all of the sky.

Why did you have odd wives? :)

    2. Thought the answer to thatquestion was obvious Tris, because they are better fun than having even wives!

I'll get ma coat ... as they say somewhere else. LOL

    3. The aphorism mentioned was said by Mao Tse Tung, who knew their true revolutionary strength and worth.

    4. Thanks Kailyard

I heard this morning on the radio from the new French Ambassador in London. She said it first in Chinese and then in English.

      :)

Well done Kailyard! I's say in the fight to change things women are possibly more effective than men, even ones with tin helmets.

She sounds like a talented lady Panda... I assume she was talking about world women's day?

    2. Harriet Harman only see what she wants to see, not much support offered to Dr Eihlid Whiteford after her run in with the equally disgusting Ian Davidson.
Trouble is that Labour are actually playing to their strengths, how many people are still like this cratur Hamiton. I know I met a few over my years in employment and not all were digging roads, some were actually in management. It is kind of like George Bush, we would ask who would vote for this but then you got to realising that many in the States were like that, and sorry to say there are still those like David Hamilton.

    3. That's true.

A proper feminist would have been at the thug Davidson's throat for the sexual innuendo in what he said.

  5. I seem to recall the DJ was known as "Diddy"? Sticking a "feckin" in front of it would be an apt description of this clown.

    1. Actually I can't remember much about the DJ blokey. He seems to have disappeared about 20 years ago. But I can't help feeling a little sorry for him, and all the publicity he's getting thanks to the Bozo.

      Your description is certainly apt!

    2. An excellent description of the man John, what astonishes me is that women in the Labour Party were trumpeting that this was a "good " speech.

    3. Good lord... I'd have thought most women would have found it insulting.

Wee girly with semi long hair...

      Run a country...

      Surely not...

Certainly Ms Lamont didn't look impressed. The again she's quite wee and has the same sort of hair style.

Maybe Diddy David didn't think much of her.

I'm just surprised that he, as an ex miner and hard left winger, thinks that Mr Murphy is the ticket with his right wing Blairtie Thatcherism.

  6. What an amazing sight that was.

A Neanderthal excuse of a living organism speaking at a wee, and I mean WEE gathering for the Neanderthal party that used to be the party OF the people FOR the people BY the people.

How nice to see that this COWARD is so brave that he is not standing in May to defend his thoughts. He's just too FEART of getting his earse handed to him on a plate by the S.N.P.!

  8. They ( Labour accounting unit northern outpost) really are a shower of shite.
They remind me of the old colonial types, at the end of empire, running around machine gunning every sign of protest against their god given right to rule. Luckily for us, it is machine gun mouths they have; firing out pure drivel.
As the days of the empire wained, so it is with this damned union.

    1. That's a good analogy.

Colonial colonels insisting that things are just the way they've jolly well always been ...tickety boo.

Meanwhile the whole thing is crashing around their stupid heads.
