    1. Do not misunderestimate the American public, the people who voted for Dubya...

    2. I agree with Conan. After Obama and Dubya anything is possible.

    3. Let's not forget Reagan, I thought ww3 was on the cards, when he became president.

    4. I bet, if he is the nominee, she will be made to disappear from view.

At the moment he's trying to appeal to an particular audience, but in the presidential election he will be looking for the floating vote. He won't want the screaming banshee with him. I would think he'll choose a more moderate running mate.

Just imagine if the English Tories choose Boris, and he gets to Downing Street, and Donnie in the White House... EEEEK

    5. Her speech was as unhinged as usual. Even Trump looked embarrassed standing beside her. She has very few friends left in the conservative Republican political establishment, as her "show" has gotten more and more incoherent, shrill, and self-serving. She didn't finish out her term as Governor of Alaska. Then FOX dropped her. And now her TV reality show has failed.

But she is perfect for Trump's purposes, as it's just 12 days to the Iowa presidential caucuses. He's in a tight race in Iowa with Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas demagogue who called the Republican Majority Leader a liar on the floor of the US Senate. He's the most detested politician in Washington by BOTH parties. He's probably worse than Trump. Seriously! But Cruz's daddy is a far right wing preacher, and Cruz has creds with the rural evangelical Christians who rule the Republican Iowa caucuses.

So Trump has some trouble in Iowa where he's known not to be all that religious. (Although he sometimes brings a Bible to political rallys, waves it in the air, and says what a great book it is.) The idiot Palin is loved by the rural religious hicks in Iowa, and that suits Trump's Iowa purposes perfectly. It's also great that the mainstream Republican "establishment" now hates her, since Trump (like Cruz) is also running against the old institutional Republican Party. Finally, Trump hates the media because they are on his case constantly about being a liar and a demagogue. And Palin also hates the liberal media as much as they hate her.

SO.....she's Trump's gift from heaven for purposes of Iowa.....and maybe a few other states where the Bible thumpers control the caucuses and Presidential Primary elections. The New Hampshire Primary comes just eight days after Iowa. She won't be much help with the flinty old New Englanders though.

NEVER watch sausage being made....OR an American President being elected. It's NOT a pretty sight!

    6. Ha ha... I loved that Danny.

By American standards though, I thought the cheering was rather subdued.

I'm not able to get that sausage out of my mind though...

I'm sure he will dump her pretty smartly after she has done the job he needs her to do in the states where the Bible bashers rule!

      She's really a liability.

  2. Doubt there is enough room for two redneck loudmouths in the Whitehouse at the same time so one of them will have to go.

    1. LOL I still think she will be used and then abandoned.

Her appeal is too limited to be on the ticket with him. He will have to balance it with someone with some brains.

I was chatting to some friends in America yesterday on social media and they are saying that it is coming down to Sanders and Trump, and that trump has a lot of support in the Southern States and the more rural areas and might just pull it off if some of the East Coast are too afraid of Sanders.

To be honest I really don't care who gets it but if I had to choose I would go for Sanders, but like Clegg it will all turn out as a glorious failure. It's up to Americans to decide whom they want to be their president and not anyone else, I accept that the decisions they make do have an impact on the rest of the world to a degree but that is down to the rest of the world kissing America's ass at every opportunity, it doesn't have to be that way.

    1. As a Euroepan left of centre democrat, I like Bernie very much.

More or less everything he says seems to make sense to me, but I don;t know that he will go down well in the USA.

They think he's the reincarnation of Stalin or Mao.

I agree with you, it's nothing to do with us, but of course who wins will be the UK's boss and I fear that trump will cause all sorts of problems that Cameron or whoever will find themselves being drawn into, because they depend on the US to keep them at the top table.

And that is more important than anything else in the world to Britnats.

  4. At least Trump (or whoever is behind him) is backing away from the anti Putin/Russia pish.

However lets hope Vlad keeps his guard up!
