SOPPY SUNDAY

1: Hello you lot. It's that time of the week again.
2: Greenland Musk Ox
3: Sumatran Tiger.
4: Faroes.
5: Canada.
6: Tournesols.
7: No cream? No sugar? You just can't get the staff these days.
8: Scottish Highlands.
9: Northern Italy.
10: Come on Mum. This bird is starving.
11: Now where did I leave these nuts again?
12: Hungarian meadow, from Dani
13: Spring lambs, from Gerry.
14: No idea where it is, but it's pretty.
15: Again no idea where, but I wish I were there.
16: Oink Oink.
17: Not flamingos, as I thought.
Possibly terns with the sun on them making them look pink.
Hat tip John.
18: Well that's it for another week.
Do you think they'll notice if I hide in here?

  1. Sorry Tris this has absolutely nothing to do with these beautiful pictures.

following NicolaSturgeon's *cough* wee announcement on Saturday at the S.N.P. conference is it too early to reprise this yet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9I2I_euwiEs 😂😂😂😂😂😂

  2. The picture of the village in the Faroes reminds me of Shetland and there are also similar caves in Shetland and on the north western coasts. Despite temptation to 'lower the tone'I refuse to associate Cameron with any of these photos.

    1. It's and amazing looking place. I guess it is the third set of islands in that group Orkney, Shetland, Faroe. They are the lucky ones that got a real devo max, but then they have the Danish government to work with and we have the British Empire.

  3. Going completely off-topic can someone advise me? Every time I log on to the "Scotsman" to see what the enemy are up to I am met with a big black "O" and then a black triangular shape. Is it me or the Scotsman?

  4. Awww those were lovely. I didn't know that red squirrels changed colour in the winter but as a native species (ethnic nat alert!) of course they would.

I think I'm going to stop reading msm - the mince that was spouted re Nicola's announcement would gie ye the boak. The reason they Yoons want to rule out another indy ref is because they know yes would win cos Nicola's no daft enough to call one until the majority want one and the only folk that want a new one is the folk that would vote yes.

Maybe next time Dundee that Tory filled, Brexit city that hates the SNP will vote yes - #bbcqt

    1. As a Dundonian all I can say is 'Pip Pip old thing; what one wants above all is to be out of Europe so that one can have proper British rights overseen by Iain Duncan Smith. None of this European and Scottish nonsense. These people have no idea how to run an Empire. Now straighten your ties, get a decent suit and lets sing God Clean for the Queen at the top of our voices.'

  6. I will tell you this if the other Scottish UK supporters are as angry as me over the snp riding roughshod over the recent snp organised referendum result.

then there will more trouble than you lot can possibly imagine.

    2. By your logic, Niko. Labour should shut up shop and move on, ridiculous logic.

    3. There will be more trouble than anyone can imagine when the two hair-cuts Boris and Trump get their fingers on the nuclear button...

Niko, all the indications are that the Tories will be running the UK for the foreseeable future and certainly for the next decade. That being the case would you prefer that they, as now, rule over and make all the major decisions affecting Scotland rather than a Scottish Labour party with the original Labour principles running an independent Scotland? Would be interested in your answer and the reasons behind it?

    4. That the Brit Nats threatening violence, Niko?

Jim is right. Given that Labour lost 40 of its 41 seats, it should simply fold the tent. Now to a certain extent it has done that. Kezia doesn't expect to win, she is actually in a battle with Ruth the Tank Commander to see who will be Scotland's second lady.

I think, John, that some people must be very happy with the Tories. Beats me why, but to come out of the EU and to give up the fight for freedom form Tories here seems to be handing the likes of Boris and IDS the future on a plate. They are already dismantling what little democracy there was in the UK. Once they have gerrymandered the seats, we can kiss goodbye to anything other than Tories for the next 20 years.

  7. Dinnae fret Niko you still have a year or two of the tories magnificence to enjoy, it may not seem so bad when we are all paupers together

    1. Yes, we are all in this together,. This being 'the shit'.

But remember the Duchess of Whatsit has a new dress designer, so take heart from that.

Maybe one of the Airmiles kids will actually stay in the UK for longer than a couple of days and do some bloody work for the millions they get.

And never forget that prince George is going to a normal nursery with ordinary children.

Nothing nicer at this time of the year than seeing them.

  11. Given that I live in dairy country I was amazed to find the fields filled with white fluffy beasties over the winter, so I go with Gerry's lambs too.

  13. And since Soppy Sunday was hijacked and I'm blaming Arbroath for that, let me bring it back to cute animals. It's very rare that polar bear mums manage to raise 3 cubs so hats off to that one.

And I think the sunflowers are hiding from nutty Yoons...

    1. Ha ha... Poor old Arbroath.

You know I don't mind hijacking anyway.

Yes. I would imagine it would be hard to raise more than two cubs.

They are probably hiding from Kez and her bragging that (under the Tories in the UK) Scotland is a basket case, or at least ran a small deficit.

My friend from Hungary, Dani, who is currently studying in Sweden, and I, were thinking we might meet up there (half way between) for a few days walking and breathing fresh air later in the year, either at the end of this academic year or the beginning of next.

Another friend of his went there this winter, and said it was fantastic, but the weather was pretty bad. It's nicer in summer.

Dunno: maybe we'll go to Iceland instead.

  18. Sunflowers.

The sun looks pretty low in the sky so I'd guess sunrise. So the last time these guys seen the sun it was over in the other side of the sky at sunset.

They will slowly turn their heads as the sun gets higher in the sky.

That wee bit of the Scottish Highlands looks like Torriden.

Poor Niko, he should look into the tiger's eyes and meditate.

As usual another great selection.bet the page view stats are good.
