IT TAKES A SPECIAL KIND OF LOWLIFE TO DO THIS

    1. Yes. hard to believe there are people who would steal from a foodbank.

Good to think that when this goes viral, there will be offers of help from all over.

  2. Honestly. What kind of a fucking idiot robs a foodbank?

You can only pray they choke to death on the spoils.

  3. I was in Musselburgh at the end of last week and in a charity shop the woman was beside herself. A man had come in took loads of clothes into the changing room and left with apparently nothing. She went into the changing room to put the clothes back out to find that he had stolen the lot.
So they even steal from charity shops.
    Unbelievable.

    1. Yes, unbelievable.

It's not even some desperate junkie. There's not value in second hand clothes.

    1. The only encouraging thing is that the staff in there sound like the most amazing and wonderful people.

  5. Appalling. I'm sure people will rally round and donations will pour in though. I hope whoever did it is caught and jailed for a long time. Well crimes involving money always get longer sentences than those involving violence anyway.

I've actually met Julie once, she's a force of nature. A very strong woman though this will have knocked her I'm sure. And she's a Yes supporter.

    1. She sounds strong. I have every faith that folk will rally round. If ever there was a town where that would happen, it's Glasgow.

I'd like 10 minutes alone with the thief.

  6. Absolutely scunnering, typical of some of the low lifes we have unfortunately. I do hope that some one shops them they deserve it.

  7. Julie deserves every bit of support that she can get. She and her staff do an absolutely amazing job. No one deserves to have to go through this. What makes it even worse, in my view, is that the bastards stole the money and vouchers Julie had been collecting for the wee 10 year old who was knocked down in Glasgow before Christmas.

I look forward to seeing her fund raiser, which she is currently working on, I heard about last night. I am certain the fund raiser will raise far more than was stolen. THAT is not the point however. She should NEVER have been put in this situation in the first place.

In my view HANGING is too good for the bastards who broke into Maryhill Foodbank stole what they did and basically wrecked the place apparently for fun!

I hope the bastards are proud of themselves. They'd just better hope that NO ONE from across Scotland who believes in Julie and the work she, her team and other foodbanks across Scotland do, ever catches up with them. I don't give much for their chances when WE do!

  8. Good God, I despair at the human race.

We need tough law and order punishments on petty criminals.

You thieve? You go to jail for 10 years. No early release. Break the scum.

    1. I'm not sure that that would work, Dean. And it would cost us a fortune keeping people in prison, which is HUGELY expensive. But I understand completely your frustrations, and why you want to hurt them hard.

  9. Gaol isn't the answer for these scum community service will shame them daily as prison only protects them from the publics gaze.

    1. Fantastic guy, Frankie. I'm sure he can easily afford it, but that's not the point. There are many people who can afford it and just don't care.

  10. Just came over from Wings with that news. Frankie is a good guy, will help a lot I would think.

    1. Man with a real heart.

It goes a long way to making up what was stolen.

      Well done Frankie.

  11. Does anyone know Iain Duncan-Smith's whereabouts for the last 24 hours?

    1. I can;t honsetly imagine that anyone has cared about his whereabluts for a very long time.

If I give a toss at all, I hope he's at the bottom of a well somewhere.

I doubt he was in Maryhill though. It would be well beneath his dignity

  12. I read earlier that not only has Frankie donated £5,000 but the Scottish government has also offered to donate £5,000.

There is now also a fundraiser up and running on line for folks to make their own wee donations.
