SOPPY SUNDAY

1. Morning all. Has anyone seen a forest around here? I used to live in it, but I nipped out for a few minutes and when I came back this was what I found... Anyway, must press on and look for it. Enjoy Sunday.
2. Field Hyacinth..
3. Hi, I think I might have hay fever...
4. Sunset
5. Bound to be something tasty here. Kiwi bird.
6/7. When you see an exhausted bee... sugary water may help him get his strength back.
8. My mountain, my sheep. I'm the boss here.
9. Can't argue with that.
10. Nice antlers, dear, but where's that tree gone?
11. Awww...
12. Precarious looking home in Nuuk, Greenland.
13. Fishing in Botswana.
14. Monarch caterpillar.
15. I might look like a stuffed toy, but I'm not.
16. Looking over the islands to Eigg. Rum, Skye.
17. Look, I lost a tooth in a fight, but I'm still handsome...
18 Scalpay.
19. I like a little rest around this time of day...
20. Why do they have to make trees so tall?
21. OK, that's me off for a nap. See you next week?

  1. Love Soppy Sunday
Tris, you're the first site that I check every morning, but being in Melbourne (9hrs ahead) I usually have to check back later in the day to get my Soppy Sunday fix. So thank you for posting early this week and giving me a huge smile with my first cuppa of the day.

  2. Great collection once again Tris. Been busy with visiting relations from the States (Houston) and Oz (Mirbo North) this week so didn't manage to submit a photo.

    Have a good Sunday.

    1. My Gerry, you get around a bit, don't you?

Anyway, I hope you had a good holiday. The weather here has been pathetic, so you're missing nothing!!

    1. Well, I'm not knowledgeable about bees (except I know I'm allergic to their stings) but I though the Queen was the female and all the workers out there were male. So, although we try to have a gender balance here on Munguin, we reckoned that the chances are that this little item was a boy bee!

Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

    2. The pollen/nectar gatherers are females and the Drones are males. Males can't sting.

    3. I love the Marsh Orchids, there's a lot of them at home in the Summer...Western Isles...and the scent is so sweet.
      The stag picture is glorious.

    4. Ahhhh... Thank you Lolly!

So I apologise to Ms Bee above. But I hope the sugary water was to her taste...

Where are you in the Western Isles?

    5. The non stinging bees have a yellow nose, and are known as 'fogies' in Dundee. As a child, you proved your bravery by catching them with your bare hands. Sometimes you got it wrong. :-)

  4. The stag with the "antlers", looks like something from a celtic legend.

I see the palm oil farmers have been busy...

    1. I have to say that when I saw the stag, I really did thing wow, what an amazing pair of antlers...

More and more every week. Munguin's motto is "don't touch anything with palm oil in it".

  5. Brilliant picture of the antlers. Love the house in Nuuk. My own wee house in Scalpay is the highest house on the hill over-looking the harbour on the left of the photo.

    1. I have to say I'd be scared stiff of the house in Nuuk. I hope the windows are very secure! Besides which Munguin likes to do a bit of gardening!!

Now you realise that you've told him where you live he'll be able to find you. You'd better get a good cellar of Moet in. He might arrive at any time!

  7. some lovely ones - that donkey for a start. Great to see Blaze, the ambassadog whose Twitter feed is tres amusemant.

Could not agree more with Tris, Munguin and jimnarlene - no 1 made my blood boil. Bornean branch has now joined the Sumatran branch as being critically endangered, the latter being among the 25 most endangered animals in the world.

Two charities trying to help -

    1. Thanks PP. I'd love to be able to help in some practical way, but I guess a donation is the next best thing.

  8. Either make your own oatcakes or check the box carefully for ingredients, Palm oil is a bad thing. There are too many human's in this world. Helena

    1. Happy to say I don't eat oatcakes.

But it's in other things too.

If anyone sees it in anything that they buy, can you let Munguin know and he'll compile a list of things that are banned.

      So we'll start with Oatcakes.

    3. Right Jim, we add that to the list. Another thing that I don't eat, I'm happy to say.
