HAVEN'T I HEARD ALL THESE ARGUMENTS BEFORE?

Are you people beginning to understand our frustration?

  1. We have heard them all before. Just like BBC repeats.

    1. I loved Govie's "exemplar of that an inclusive, open and innovative democracy can achieve"

Just as well it wasn't Duncan Smith that said it.

      Inclusive?

My goodness. We're used to being taken for idiots, but that's pushing it too far.

  2. There is a, certain, feeling of déjà vu.

  3. Whats the collective noun for tories when they get together? "Shower of bastards"? "Murder of pricks"? "School of scumbags"?

    1. An indifference, has a ring of truth about it.

  4. Because we don't really have any "skin" in this particular game,I feel quite relaxed about things.
Very amusing to see those politicians who trotted out the Better Together mantra now on the receiving end of it.
Some of our No voting fellow Scots must now be wondering about whether they may have been fooled by the same propaganda.
    Shame isn't it.

    1. Yes, it is.

If you think about it, what the likes of IDS are saying is that Britian can make it alone but Scotland couldn't. So maybe he's like to come and explain this to Scotland.

And Gove might explain why we live with decisions from politicians we didn't elect and we can't get rid of.

And maybe Grayling would explain why the levers of Scottish power should be pulled in another country.

What happened to being Better Together?

  5. Feeling disconnected from it all, mostly on purpose though. :)

I say...Let them have their referendum. My, that sounds familiar too.

    1. Yeah Morag, I feel disconnected too. It's really like it's their politicians that are arguing. It's like it's not really happening here.

I just can't get excited about it, apart from the fact that it is distracting from general election. And that UKIP may benefit from the publicity it wouldn't normally get, lumbering us with a few UKIP list MSPs for 5 years.

  6. I wonder what will happen the day after their referendum when the knuckle daggers realize they were conned and never really had a chance from the outset.

Perhaps they will gather in Trafalgar square this time.

    1. IDS leading the charge in Trafalgar Sq?

If Cameron wins, no matter what, IDS will have to go.

If Boris wins, IDS may be the new chancellor...

  7. If an exit vote is the result, I think Cameron is in for one helluva shock.

What a thought - Boris as PM, Trump as Prez......

    1. Well in that case, the more power we can wrest from the UK, the better.

I can imagine Boris and Trump sending troops to force the Mexicans to build the wall.

I don't want to be a part of country that has Boris as PM

But it would be amusing to watch it from afar.

  8. I am not sure whether to laugh or cry. Personally I do not really mind which way the result swings. Both are advantageous. Personally I hope Scotland will pin England in the EU. Guaranteed to get us kicked out of the Union.

    1. Hello AH. How are you? So long since we heard from you, I was tempted to write another article on trains!!!! :)

They are amusing, if only for their complete lack of awareness. Yes, like you I can see possible advantages in the UK voting to leave, and voting to stay. I'm pretty indifferent to the outcome, and I won't campaign either way.

Of course the matter is complex and to REALLY understand all the 'ins and outs' (if you pardon the pun) you'd have to do a great deal of study.

Normally in such cases you look at the leaders of opposing side to see which one you think might have the better judgement...

In this case one is compelled to say, as you look for one to the other, if they had another brain cell between them they could easily be dead daffodils.
