WHAT? ... JUST WHAT?

  1. Golly gosh, knock me down with a feather, I do believe that he has finally got it old chap!...DOH! LOL

I wonder if the penny has finally dropped. Could we be witnessing the 'enlightenment' of the bus driver at last?

    1. Who knows? Stranger things have happened!

  2. It actually took me some time to work that one out.

My first thought was, "At last, Willie Rennie is telling the truth", but then I thought wait a minute he said Yes not No.

It's kind of like being told that if you opt for release you'll never get any more "trusty" privileges in prison.

    1. Pretty smart, Doug. There's no flies on Willie.

I must admit it takes a tortured kind of mind to come up with that!

Can't wait to see what Ming's proposals will be... Well, OK, I can...yawn...

  3. Do you have a link to him saying this? I googled it and couldn't find anything.

    1. He said it on the Sunday Politics yesterday. I was watching and burst out laughing.

    2. Thanks Anon...

I found it on my Facebook page.

He's launching yet another report from the Liberals (Ming the Merciless) in London which of course means nothing because the Liberals were the third party in the rUK (now coming in last behind the nutcase brigade) and the 4th party in Scotland, not even considered to be a major party any more.

They'd have to get the Tories and Labour to agree with them about any changes they might make.

^The likelihood of that being pretty small, I'd say.

    3. Well Guardian has a piece re Pa Brown's proposals for more devolution that Severn is waxing lyrically over. Now why a backbench "former" politican's thoughts on the matter as newline news I don't know. But jam tomorrow is back on the menu.

    4. Jam jam jam jam...

Oh no wait, it was spam spam spam spam...

Silly me. Easy to mix them up.

There are unlikely to be more meaningful proposals for devo plus.

The English won't tolerate us being better off. They just won't, and frankly I can understand why. If we are part of Britain why should we be. Collect our own taxes, including those on oil. Benefit from our own exports. Decide on our own social security and pensions system...

No chance. Labour MPs have already said its a non starter.

    5. When you said Pa Brown, I thought you meant OUR Pa...

His suggestions would be more interesting, and a lot less self centred that bloke who saved the world...

Friend of David Bowie's I imagine.

    1. Yep, it rang a bell with me. I seemed to remember that he had said it before. So it wasn't a slip of the tongue.

  5. I've always thought of Willie as being "nice but dim" but this remark, even if he meant vote No still does not make any sense in view of what his Better Together allies are claiming.

    1. No, I don;t think he meant "no".

I could agree with that, but as Fair For [points out he has said the same thing before.

Someone must have told him that devo max was popular and he's explaining to us that we will never get devo max if we vote for independence.

Yes, I know. But he apparently doesn't.

I dunno if he's nice. I've never met him. But dim he certainly seems to be.

    2. I wonder if explaining that Devo Max is a subset of Independance to him would help?

I expect not, but we can but try.

    3. I doubt it. Best to let him go on in his own happy wee way.

  6. He's probably a nice enough man, probably gives to charity, smiles at cats and holds the door open for the ladies. But leader of a political party? He makes Davidson and Lamont look like Angela Merkel. (Well, maybe not. Sorry Angela.)

    1. Hmmm yeah... maybe not quite Angela...

I don't know that there are many who look like Angela.

      But I get your meaning.

I'm sure he is a perfectly charming man. But he's definitely a bit woolly in the head.

  8. I'm trying to think of a metaphor for this but I can't, what an absolute chump.

Willie Rennie I mean - not me.

    ;-)

    1. Well, it's not Willie Rennie that can't think of a metaphor, is it?

Although I'm kinda thinking that he probably couldn't either.
