NATIONAL YES REGISTRY: THE NEXT STEPS

Guest Post by The National YES Registry

The idea started the day after the NO vote, when the Yes Largs shop tried to make contact with fellow Yes Shops for moral support and to discuss future directions to take locally andnationally. Since then the concept has grown, but the idea is still a simpleone. Get all pro-Indy grass-root groups, no matter how geographically disparate, linked together in a practical and mutually supportive campaigning network. This network is now in the process of forming and will be collectively owned and run by its autonomous membership groups. Once formed, the groups will decide their own campaigning direction and agendas.
So... Calling all groups!
Group Declaration of Support
Following our first National Yes Registry conference of grass-root, pro-independence autonomous groups held in Largs on December 5 2015, we the undersigned groups declare our intention to collectively provide the grass-root authority and vanguard leadership necessary to instigate the creation of an open, non-party political, mutually supportive campaigning network around which all willing pro-independence grass-root organisations can coalesce to democratically maximise our social leverage for change and thereby systematically advance the cause for Scottish Independence.
This has been decided:
We intend to deliver on this decision through the creation of a collectively owned and run National Yes Registry ‘Forum mechanism’, as outlined in the NYR film and further developed through feedback gained during the ‘face to face tour of the groups’, undertaken in the five weeks prior to conference. This ‘Forum mechanism’ will continuously adapt and develop to practically address the social and campaigning needs of all the participating groups, as they grow over time.

We, the autonomous groups, fully understand that the ‘Forum mechanism’ which we are sanctioning the creation of, is only a tool. We are creating it in order to help anchor and actively develop, once again, the inspirational campaigning culture of pro-active self-help and powerful social networking that made the Scottish grass-root independence movement a joy to belong to and such a formidable non-party political force to be reckoned with.

It is this, our culture of mutual support, which will ensure the success of our proposed ‘forum mechanism’: A tool of the groups with which to build an effective grass-root social, cultural and campaigning network, nationwide. This is key to understanding the importance of our timetable to ‘launch’ and the ‘stages of group readiness’ which we the undersigned groups commit to delivering upon internally, in preparation to the ‘forum mechanisms’ launch nationally.

We, the undersigned, collectively urge all other likeminded groups and individuals with a belief in the need for a powerful non-party political grass-root voice in the campaigning direction and timing of Scotland’s next strides toward full Independence, to join us in creating this collectively owned, self-organised re-formation and continuation of Yes’s urgent grass-root driven demand for a return to full Scottish Independence.

  2. Scotland voted 'NO ' in a snp nationalist referendum
the snp lost seats at the last election.
poll after poll exposes the snp lie the vast majority
of Scots DO NOT WANT ANOTHER REFERENDUM

I call upon you proven minority of malcontents to
cease and desist this calumny of lies and accept the
settled will of the Scottish people as proven in a nationalist
    organised referendum..

    1. Och Niko. Give it a rest.

You know you really want independence. Your best friends Taz and Spook want it, so just knuckle down to the idea that it's coming.

    2. Quite so, Niko, the No vote ensured Scotland will be ruled by a Tory government for the foreseeable future. As a 'left-winger' you must be delighted but given that an EU exit will strengthen the cold clammy grasp of the more rabid right-wingers you ain't seen nothing yet.

    3. Niko secretly likes Camergoon and Gidiot.

Not sure what the attraction is exactly, as I completely fail to see it, but you can tell it's there.

Next chapter will be Mad Boris who said it was better to spend money in Croydon than Scotland (I wonder if they'd like Trident down there?), and Iain Duncan Smith, who will forget that just for a little while he became all cuddly and hug-a-neddish.

      Retirement age up to 84?

Life would be good to silence your rebellious whine forever,

  4. Off topic but... Looking back through posts whilst I was away I see that Juteman is still having employment problems. He can get free employment/employee advice from ACAS on 0300 123 1100. They should be available from 0900 - 2000 Monday to Friday.

    2. Cheers John. Ive got the unions solicitor on the case. I've been in contact with ACAS too.
Basically my employer can't pay me and the other workers redundancy pay as he has no money. He is insolvent but refuses to face that fact. The government will pay it through the Redundancy Payments Office if/when he eventually goes bust. Meanwhile i'm in limbo, as technically i'm still employed by him, even though he has stopped paying my wages. I can't resign and look for another job as i might lose my right to a redundancy payment. Also, if i resign, i would have been deemed to have made myself unemployed, and lose my £73 a week Jobseekers Allowance. My mortgage protection insutance wpuld also stop for the same reason.
At least it's nice weather for sitting in the gsrden. :-)

  5. Nice 1 Tris ,

I knew we were never going back in the bottle and worried that if we waited too long things would peter out. So it a relief to see the energy of the YES campaign still buzzing along and at last someone trying to bring us all together.

The Euro ref and the football keeps much off the air and there is always the fear that folk give up. "We had our chance " ... so to speak . Watching the video gave me heart and reminded me thats there are so many good people out there willing to fight on .

I wish i could help and will watch out for my local groups along with a lot of mates who are just biding their time.

    The fight goes on .

    yahoo :)

    1. Hi Ritchy, great to hear that the National Yes Registry project has cheered you up :-)

Why don't you and your friends consider forming a new group and join in? You only need to commit to what you can. Get support from and mix campaign ideas up with others and start getting Yes growing again.

It's as much about the social side of Yes as it is the politics. That's what made the referendum so fun, vibrant and effective, and that's what still really scares the Unionists so much. (you can come out from behind the couch now Niko ;-)

Go on, why bide our time? There's loads needs done before the next indy ref is called. Remember, the political parties will be the ones that call the next Indy ref, but it's going to be us in the grass-roots that will win it! We need to get ourselves organised, networked and ready to go again!

Ask around Ritchy, see if there's a local indy group and find out if they fancy participating. I would be more than happy to come and talk things over with them. Anyway, really glad you liked the film and please feel free to get in touch anytime.

The fight goes on only because people keep on fighting. The more the merrier :-)

    2. Hi Richy,

Can't tell you how good it is to hear from you mate.

      I've been a bit concerned.

Not only that, but Jason's post has given you new hope. You're right. The fight does go on, and this, along with the government's intention of reigniting the passion over the summer, is the way to do it.

Hope the weather is being kind to your health and that you're feeling a bit better.

Give my best wishes to the Libation crew.

      :)
