ANYONE SEEN THIS MAN?

THE POLIS MAY BE LOOKING FOR HIM

According to the Twitter page of this chappie,  a certain Mr O'Kane, he was off out to do a bit of canvassing for a candidate in Thursday's elections. Not a bad thing to do, you might think, specially if the candidate was his own lad.

Now, your logical assumption would be that, having an armful of SNP posters, he must be putting them up, or handing them out, as he went along.

But you'd be wrong, for he's taking them down.

And as far as I can make out, that is illegal, unless someone has stuck them up, without permission, on his property. At the very least he is stealing SNP property.

Next time a balaclava might be an idea.

  1. Illegal, sure.

Going to actually get punished? I highly doubt it.

    1. Hi Douglas. I take it you know him. :)

      Is he in hiding now?

      Maybe he's in Johann's bunker :)

    2. I agree Illy. Very unlikely to see any punishment.

      |But if you see any burly men around... or even a wummin sitting on a tank, point them in his direction...

  3. Oh i see in the snp one party state it is illegal to take

down snp posters which are placed over a protective barrier.
no doubt the snp bully boys will now give him a duffing over
brick through his window that sort of thing.

that how they behave in Turkey.

    1. No that's "Labour" supporters, the ones that were shouting in my windows in the 90's ( with my, then, young weans present) and spitting at SNP activists after the count in in Kilmarnock, look to thy own for thuggery and stupidity.

    3. Nikowhosit..you are a silly apologist for an obviously anti-democratic act of political vandalism. Your limp protest stinks of sour grapes.

    4. Yes jimnarlene, I witnessed similar behaviour by Labour supporters (my father being one) towards SNP voters at a polling station in Ayrshire in 1987. They really are Scotland's nasty party. Although Ruthie sees this as a role model for her new Ruth Davidson No Surrender to the Nats Party.

    5. Niko, may I explain to you what a one party state is, you only have one party to vote for. Now if that was the case here in Scotland why was Kezia Dugdale, Ruth Davidson and Willie Rennie plus Patrick Harvie, all being allowed to speak on old dear old Auntie BBC. The last time I voted there were something like 15 different parties. So give it up Niko, belonging as you do to the Anti Democracy Grouping you would not know any different. Helena

    6. If it is illegal to place posters over a protective barrier this should be reported to the police. Removing them is also illegal.

    7. You know, Niko. In spite of the Conservative government being elected on 37% of the vote, I've never said that Britain is a one party state.

It's not. The fact that the likes of SNP, Labour, Liberals, Ukip and Greens, Independents and BNP and a host of other people are allowed to stand, to broadcast on the national broadcaster and to take seats if they are elected suggests to me that it is a multi party state.

The most optimistic predictions for the SNP in Holyrood is that they will have a small majority. But the rest of the seats will be taken by the Ruth Davidson Party, Labour, Liberals, Greens and possibly Ukip and a Scottish Socialist.

You need to read up on your politics before you mouth off what Anas Sarwar has said.

    8. Anon: I doubt that it is illegal to put posters there any more than anywhere else. I can see no reason why it would be. A barrier is there to stop people and cars sharing the same space. I can't see in what way the protection would be in any way lessened by a poster being put on it.

It is almost certainly illegal to take them down.

I tweeted the picture to Police Scotland.

    9. BTW Niko. Rumour has it that Margaret Hodge has been persuaded to stand against Mr Corbyn.

This to trigger an election. Presumably for the power hungry Blairite cryto-conservatives to get their claws in.

Bless them. I hope that they do and that Corbyn wins hands down.

  4. Why are the supposed "winners" of the indyref the bitter and twisted ones? Maybe this chap has an unhealthy obsession with Nicola.

    1. I really don;t know. Nicola has been at pains to point out that her priorities are running the country. Education adn Health at the top of her list.

When they get the power to do something effective with taxes and welfare she hopes to try to be fairer than the Brits. (I understand, for example, that Housing Benefit may be restored for under 21s.)

The Ruth Davidson Party has made it a centre point of their policy to stop a second referendum, even though Ruth herself waned her colleague in the British Conservative Party (to which Ruth is affiliated) that that would be wrong. I suspect that mr Cameron told her a few home truths.

Labour too said that they would be conciliatory to Yes voters and their caretaker said that she might even vote for independence before quickly retracting. Presumably someone had been on the phone from head office.

These parties that owe allegiance to bosses in another place with another agenda, and who have no knowledge or understanding of Scotland, are a menace.

  5. Ih dear Niko, you really need to get an education. A one party state is where you only have ONE choice on the ballot. What evidence do you have for any such violence ever taking place toward anyone, if anything it is the rabid unionists who display downright obnoxious behaviour.

    1. Hetty, we have tried to tell him that on more than one occasion, but I fear he has been brainwashed by the Daily Mail.

Or he's been watching The North British News and taking it literally.

Talking of which, the latest edition of that will be out at midday today.

Don't miss it Niko. It will inform your opinions for the next week.

The link will be in the sidebar!

  7. It is interesting, is it not, that Nicola Sturgeon want's to give us the chance to vote for independence if we want it. Y'know, if we give her a mandate or summat. And the world at large is supposed to think that that is anathema?

When did they give up on allowing countries their independence? Westminster completely hated some of the states that exist now, but they didn't block them. It just shows how far down the pecking order we are.
