My goodness, She is a great asset to our country. Confident, self assured, on top of her brief. What a leader.
Huge asset. Can you imagine Kez being able to cope with that and pulling off a performance that makes her (and Scotland) friends wherever she goes...
Bursting with pride - Oor Nicola is a treasure.
I'm so grateful we have her. There's no doubt that she is an enormous asset, Fergus.
Well done Nicola I am so glad I watch this this is what we need Scotland to be premoted instead of London.
It's a big ask, Anon. Over an hour of American-Scottish relations, but in the end I, like you, I was very glad that I watched and learned.
Damn, she is good.Ref. that delicate but so important question of legitimacy: how do you make narrowly FPTP elected Tory take account of those living outside, well, outside the Home Counties, I wish Nicola had highlighted the gross disadvantage of FPTP to creating legitimacy. Sure, Orkney might get ornery… but generally the Scottish PR system spreads legitimacy a lot wider. Electoral reform in UK would do a lot to make WM leadership kore accountable (which is why it won't happen)
Hi lawrenceab...Yes, I think it's time we made more of the ridiculous voting system that the UK has... although I understand that had we had PR the SNP would have only taken 35 seats, or thereby.Still, what's right is right, and it doesn't change because just for once it has advantaged someone other than the 2 big parties.Above all... YES she is good. World class I'd say.
Thank you for this. I thought she handled it extremely competently and answered whatever question was chucked at her with skill and expertise She is a major asset to our goal of independence for Scotland, Cometh the Hour, Cometh the Woman, Those of us who have been independence supporters for decades past have lived through this stuff many, many times before. We know what it's like to be derided in the media and by the state broadcasters, because we have lived with it our whole political lives. We now have competent and politically astute members of the SNP to represent us in government, and I am beginning to feel optimistic that independence for our nation is finally on the horizon.
Indeed. Scotland's time has come. I think and we have some really good people... not just a few, but many, to do the leading..
"Scotland's time has come." Ah tris, yiv nae idea how good that sounds.....regards, Ronnie.
I think she has a great future. As much as my respect for Alex Salmond Nicola is far more endearing to the general public and as Humerous Vegetable implies the end is in sight, it's just a pity he/she doesn't have a funny bone.
Oh very witty....I like Alex, and I thought he was a great leader, without whom we'd never have got this far... but there is no doubt that Nicola is just who we need now to get what the country voted for.I just wish Labour could get over its hatred of the SNP for long enough to help them fight the Tories. They seem these days to be terrified of voting against the Tory government.Even an Englishman on "The News Quiz" pointed this out.
"I like Alex, and I thought he was a great leader, without whom we'd never have got this far... but there is no doubt that Nicola is just who we need now to get what the country voted for.Agreed. You should have an upvote / downvote thingummygig, or perhaps not.
tris' I just wish Labour could get over its hatred of the SNP for long enough to help them fight the Tories. 'or is it' ' I just wish the SNP could get over its hatred of the the Labour party and its supporters for long enough to help them fight the Tories. '
Sadly Nico, "New" Labour are Tories; in all but name.Jimnarlene
I don;t think you can have them on individual comment Douglas...although it might be interesting if you could...
Niko. Nicola has made it clear that the SNP will co-operate with Labour against the Tory government, but they keep voting with it
Or abstaining, what is that about Niko, haven't they got the balls to stand up and be counted,

Thanks Gerry. She's making a huge impact and people really seem to want her on their shows.
What a brilliant ambassador for Scotland, full of enthusiasm and potential - the nay sayers and snipers really need to wake up and realise just how far this lady's star can carry them if they would just allow themselves to raise the quality of the debate. That said, she does seem to be wrong (and possibly inconsistent) on universal welfare - the key is in the term universal and not any mistakes that IDS might be making.Favourite part was lifting the banishment of Dr Livingston's family and offering to greet them at the airport - whether her critics will see any danger in such close ties with a representative of the German historic institute is a different matter entirely : ).Thanks for posting the video and opportunity to commentStuart McTavish
As you say she is a fantastic ambassador for Scotland. I'm trying to think of someone who could do it better, and really, I can't.As you say, she has an ability to connect with people and put in that small human touch, even in the midst of difficult and multi layered questions!
TrisWhat I found so boring was the usual people taking it all down and talking Scotland down at every opportunity. Certain unionists really just can't bring themselves to think of Scotland in a positive light, they are so afraid of something. I just don't get it at all. NS did really well showing Scotland in a positive light, surely that is a good thing. Bruce
Well, of course, people questioning someone like her, have to ask that kind of question. It would seem that she was getting an easy ride if they asked easy questions. It's they way that she turns everything negative around that impresses me. And I admire the way she accepts the facts...and takes the positives from them. David Cameron is PM, although Wales, NI and Scotland didn't vote for him. But if he's sensible he will see that... That seems like a good way forward.
Why is nobody asking the most pertinent question, WHY is she speaking with the CFR? One of the most insidious arms of the "elite". I suggest looking into them and their actions before praising Nicola's attendance.
