Using an average of Eurostat, IMF and CIA projections it was found that out of 170 sovereign states the UK debt level (the amount spent in the UK more than was raised in taxes) was poorly placed at 150th.

The really bad news is the UK is 188th out of 192 nations in terms of the strength of its current account balance. We have a critical balance of payments problem that is in danger of sinking the UK economy without a trace. That is a direct result of keeping the pound strong to help the finance industry (predominately based around the city of London) and this also led to deindustrialisation in Scotland and the UK regions. In 2007 and 2008 I met with Bank of England representatives including Monitory Policy Committee (MPC) members and urged them to curb the excess lending from the finance industry. I was told in no uncertain terms that, Scotland had never had it so good. The words eye, off, and the ball, come to mind.

cynicalHighlanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06034325908473006163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2092475090824666694.post-20049429864331744422013-03-25T15:48:35.866+00:002013-03-25T15:48:35.866+00:00Bedroom tax, attacks on the ill, infirm, disabled, ...Bedroom tax, attacks on the ill, infirm, disabled, elderly, unemployed, low paid, work fare, tuition fees, WMD's, patients to pay for their own meals in hospital (England and Wales), doctors to charge a call out fee (England and Wales), prescription charges (over £7.00 in England), further cuts to armed services and police (England and Wales), further cuts to benefits (Westminster claim £2.5 Billion but ACTUAL figure is £4.5 Billion), illegal wars.

Hmm, can some one please remind me why continuing to be part of this broken union is GOOD news?Arbroath 1320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2092475090824666694.post-63624205367111549122013-03-25T10:35:15.068+00:002013-03-25T10:35:15.068+00:00Nothing much is off-topic at Munguin's Republi...Nothing much is off-topic at Munguin's Republic, CH.

That piece comes directly from Meacher's own blog.

I don't know how anyone who is "Labour" could possibly vote for that party.

The unemployed, the sick and disabled, now we see the campaign start on the foreigners, with the two parties battling to be the more hard line.
